Default Spektrum

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if a Spektrum receiver, S3000(?), will fit the G4S. I'm considering buying one for my kit.

Yes, the spektrum will fit in the G4s but I would highly recommend you get the upgraded pro version to avoid all the potential bugs many experienced with the original system

Shouldn't be a problem.

Default Team Magic G4S and RDLogics Mongoose

Guys,

I'm very interested in this car but what is the diff. between the Team Magic G4S and the RDLogics Mongoose, are they pretty much the same car, parts can be swap/ or use? Correct me if I'm wrong but did the TM G4S has the option of front one way or universal is the mongoose the same and why is it cost to much to get the TM G4S than the mongoose whats the diff between the 2.. thanks.

There are several differences,

The new one way can be locked as you already know.

The steering system is totally new and is a great improvemente over the previous design. The new one new has a bullet-proof servo saver integrated into the bellcrank, much like those present in other cars.

The new chassis makes room for the new steering system, and so does the new radio tray. They both push the servos backward to make room for the bellcrank.

Also, the new UFO clutch is the best ever from Team Magic. It works great!!

The rear shock tower support is made out of aluminum for strength and great looks.

Those are the main differences. Some smaller ones may escape me now.

I hope it helps!

Suspension parts are the same, socks are the same, rear bulkheads are thicker were the hinge pins run but you can use the old ones.

The chassis incorporates a rear belt tensioner.

Shock towers are made out of thick carbon fiber plate.

The G4S is the newest evolution of the Mongoose/G4 Evo.
If you own the Mongoose/G4 Evo you can upgrade the car to the latest spec by purchasing the upgrade kit.
Only hassle is the upgrade kit does not have the UFO clutch system.
If looking to buy a car ,get the G4S as it has all the extras as standard.

Kit includes the following:
G4S Alum. 7075 Chassis (w/rear belt tensionser)
G4S Carbon Radio Plate
G4S Carbon Transponder Holder
G4S 850 Receiver Battery Pack
G4S Bell Crank Steering System (w/adjustable rods)
G4S New Nylon Front Upper Stiffener Bracket
Thick Servo Arm (for Futaba/Ko/Sanwa)
G4S Receiver Mount
G4S Servo Mount
G4S Radio Plate Mount
Special 12cm Receiver Battery Pack Wire Set (w/mount)
New Small Alum. Antenna Rod Mount
K Factory Competition Belt (front/side/rear)
G4S Sticker
G4S Alum. Side Brace
G4S Instruction Manual

Do you have any options on battery like the flat pack or you are pretty much stuck with this type of battery

Also if I'm not mistaken there is a RTR version is this the same as the G4S or is there a diff. between the RTR and the Kit.

Thanks

You can make up bat pack with larger capacity AAA cels.
I run my club meets and ran the nationals with out any poblems.
Std pack is a 800mah 6v.

Thanks guys....one other question regarding radio equipment. I come from 1/8th buggies, and swear by Air 358/359 servos. .10/200oz @ 6v. I see most onroad guys like the Futaba 9451(?). Is it weight or something else. I already have two 358s ready to go.

Get the smallest Spectrum receiver and use double or triple double tape to minimize vibration. My friend lost two KO receivers in 1 day as result from vibration. G4S receiver basket is very small, so get the smallest receiver. A baloon will be good to cover the receiver from fuel spills.

You can use 358/359 servos for awhile to save some bucks. If you want to go pretty, yes you can buy Futaba 9451 because it is more responsive and suitable for on road cars.

Cool, I've got a M11 and Spektrum setup on the way.

Funny how the 358/359 seems to be the servo of choice for 1/8th buggies vs. the 9451 for these. I'll keep an eye out for a deal on the 9451.
