Nice to see they postponed just to offer us a fully functional car.

Roll on January...
If thats true it could well push me into an MTX3 then

Believe me, it is worth the wait. I had the prototype in my hand in August (the one Mark Green used at the World Cup) and I know for a fact that what you see in pictures is not going to be the car that is released. A lot of modifications have been made to the car and Serpent is currently adding these to the final product. I can say the car looked really good.

Default Release date 705

I just heard the same thing about the postpone of the 705 and 950. The first batch will be released in januari 2003 according to the latest rumours. Would be interesting to see which retailers will get their hands on the first batch. I just ordered mine at http://shop.the-border.nl. They have good connections with the Serpent headquarters in Holland......

That was my point, the Serpent Impulse was the frist pivot ball suspension on-road nitro touring car on the market!!

I personally run the GT4 but I recently heard that the new car they have coming out is not for 200mm IC so as they are slipping I am jumping ship to Serpent. Will keep the Yok though for club racing but I'll be running my Serpent at the European Championships and hopefully the Paris Memorial next October.
OOOOHHHH!!! Yokomo is not making a 200mm nitro car next year!?!?!?

PLEASE TELL MORE!!

So I have heard. That is why I am waiting for the new 705 to come out. I will be running it at the European Championships in Portugal 2003. But this also depends. Dino at STS Racing just sent me an email and he is recommending me for sponsorship with some of his European Distributors. So I am just playing a waiting game.

Ummm, you bought it at EURO 429... I assume that is without engine.

Didn't you know that RCCarinternational (PK Racing) at Dordrecht has it at EURO 369.75 for the rolling chassis?

Looking at the website you gave, there is not much that you can get for Serpent spares unlike RCCarinternational where almost any Serpent parts are listed.

Yeah that's correct InitialD. The reason RCCarInt looks cheaper is that VAT is not included for Dutchies like me. So here locally (in Holland) you have to add 20% taxes on the prices, which makes this car approx EURO 440,--. But thanx for the tip.....

herb, sorry my bad. I forgot about the tax...

Well, I thought I was missing something. Of all people, I think should know better where's the best place to get these things in Holland...

Ummm, for people like us outside of the EU, it will make the 705 at EURO 360.50 then.

On their website, I don't see that they list and sell parts for the Impulse. Do you know if they ship internationally?

They have most of the Serpent parts in stock. I am currently driving a Impulse Pro and Vector NT, and bought my parts there. If any part is not in stock they can get it in 2-3 days. The Border shop is situated almost near the Serpent factory. In Holland it seems they are the cheapest.
And yes, I know they ship worldwide and are very fast...

If you need more info send an email to [email protected]

I hope this help you InitialD....

Thanks herb I'll give them a call.

How do you acces their stock or know how much is the price for a certain item? The website doesn't seem to list any parts that I can browse the parts prices...

Anyway, when I was over there from one of the shops tell me is that many shops do not keep stock for Serpent. Reason being is that they do not sell well at the shop level because at the club levels, people get cheaper prices than they can get at the shop... Is this true?

In Holland there are not so many shops that have all Serpent (crack)parts in stock, I know 2-3 shops who have a reasonable amount of items. Almost every competition- and hobby driver buys its items at those local hobby shops.
In general it is different to buy cars and parts for competition cars and brands like Mugen and Associated. Till summer 2002 almost every competition racer drove a Serpent car based on the availability. More and more you see Asso NTC3 and Mugen MTX-3 driving on the circuits. For example the Trinity Reflex, Kyosho V-One R and its parts are not available in Holland. The same counts for special hop-ups and engines from brands like Rossi, Novarossi, JP a.o.

More and more people buy their items through the internet. At the clubs there is almost no trading of parts, only second hand items.
The prices of Serpent parts are based on the listprice. If you are a regular buyer at a shop you get a maximum 10% discount on the listprice. That's what I experienced. InitialD, where do you live and buy your items ?

Everyone flocked over here huh?

Well, I've gone to the "dark side".. picked up a MTX-3 back in early November.. problem is, I've been too busy with work so it's still in the box, unopened. Heard the car is awesome though.

Still driving my Impact though.. so I guess I'm half Snake half Moogen...
