Ehm, I think I can feel a cold coming on and I won't be able to make it

OK...not really the Serpent 705 question but I can't seem to find the Serpent Impulse PRO thread, so the next best thing is the 705...

I am going to activate my beloved Impulse PRO...however, seeing my S710 and my NTC3, I realized that the engine mount of the Impulse are like 6 feet from the ground....and I don't have the tools to cut the engine mount nice and flat...

My question is....is there any other brand like HPI R40, Yokomo or Mugen engine mount that is lower then the stock Impulse one and still fit the Serpent Chasiss...?

Thanks....

P.S....just realized this too.....does 705 enigne mount fit the Impulse PRO chassis...? If that is a fit, that is much better suite then other mfr...

The 705 mounts will match nicely on the 710. 710 is just lower by 1 mm. But neither will fit on the Impulse PRO...

If you get to lower the Impulse PRO mounts, remember to change the flywheel also.

ah....darn, too bad............but thanks for the tip about the flywheel....I have a 4mm chassis, so the centax flywheel is not really a problem if I am only lowered by like 4-6mm only

So does any one know where I can buy a lowered engine mount without cutting the stock one? Thanks.

When I was driving the Impulse Pro, I went to friend and he machined the engine mounts for me. It was cheap

I don't think you can buy lowered engine mounts.

How do matey! Had a great day, but it's been spoilt by an old Girlfriend turning up

I give a fuller run down when I don't feel so mad.

Three races: first race 2nd second race 1st third race 2nd
I was beaten by a 710 driver - the Mugen boys where 6 laps down on us. The race was summed over the best two races from the three - the 710 guy beat me by 1.35 seconds

A good day until I got home!

Is anyone familiar with FPS diff? I have one Impulse Pro that is set up perfectly - only I did not build it. My second Impulse Pro which I did build "feels" different in the rear diff. When I spin the right rear wheel of the "good" car the the diff spins both tires and the FPS diff and it turns the gearbox. The second "new" car doe not do this, when I spin the right rear tire it just spins itself inside the FPS, the FPS does not spin. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix this?

Much obliged for any info or help.

Hi BigKnot,

Take a look at Julius' article about building the FPS diff - maybe you can see from the description where you went wrong.
