Ahh, trying to get some inspiration on driving a 1/8th scale so that you can picture them better in your dreams?

I have the 2001 1/8th scale WC video held in Australia. Superb !

It's not perceived as a sign of madness, when you watch the video with your TX unit in your hand, is it?

When that time comes, you'll know it's time to seek psychiatric help at the hospital and look for RC Anonymous counselling support group !

Anyway, my guess is that it's just an add on.
TIP:
You need to polish the outside of the dif where the external dif adjuster turns.

Schrijver99, does external gear adjuster eliminate the diff rings and balls, thrust bearing?

gear adjuster? maybe diff adjuster
No you still need the balls, it only replaces one ring (leftside)

Nice pic of the rear. The rear adjustable sway bars don't look like they were set equal. Stiffer on the right than the left side?

Anyway which part exactly that you need to polish? Is that the left side long shaft (801432) where the diff adjuster nut sits inside? Why polish? Thanks.

You mean one of the two plates (the left plate) that holds the balls on each side need to be taken out (8378)?

Can you walk us through step by step on what you do to adjust the rear ball diff with the external diff adjuster when you tighten or loosen the diff at the track?

It's a tip i got from a team driver (stanley Bauer), if you polish the part that is red in the picture, the dif will be more adjustable for better control.

To put the new adjuster on:
Polish the part in the pic
In step 3.2 (3.0 Differential Assembly) replace the metal ring (8378) with the dif adjuster
Put in the 3 screws and the hexscrew
Finish

The working is about the same as with the FPS dif
Turn in = more lock
Turn out = less lock
same as the fps but a little less control of the lock but with less weight

You mean in step 3.2 or 3.4? Step 3.2 metal ring will be on the right side of the diff. Step 3.4 will be the metal ring on the left which is the same side as where the external diff adjuster will be installed...

Great. After turning the rear wheel to lock in (tighten) or lock out (loosen) the rear ball diff, I assume you need to lock the cap screw so that the settings will not run?

Do you still need to use the small pin to lock the diff screw like what is done in step 3.3 to tighten or loosen the diff?

Thanks for all the reply. I guess you're the closest we can get to a Team Serpent driver in Holland !
