Well, like what you say... different folks, different strokes

Some people like to set it with a rebound. Some don't. I do.

With the new addition of the sponge in the shock cap behind the shock bladder, the rebound can now can be set to be more consistant. After a weekend racing, when I take off the shock spring, the shocks will still give the same rebound as it did when newly assembled.

The trick to the rebound thingy is to make both left and right shocks rebound the same. You need to slowly tighten the shock cap while compressing the shock at the same time to release pressure in it so that the rebound is not to strong. Once that is achieved, I tighten the shock cap very tightly.

I believe everybody else used a front sway bar at Villa Real... Perhaps Michael found out that he could not get enough steering with the current setup...

Incidently, Ralph Burch also ran without the front sway bars... Then again he was flipping here and there according to some here. He would have made to the top of there weren't so many flips here and there...

Perhaps one of the things to try out

They are not using swaybars to get rid of tractionrolling.....
I heard Serpent is coming out with many new stuff...
Many team drivers are no satisfied with the curent car...
It won in portugal, but that track was not a "chassi" track.. slippery and realy big... every car was competetiv there.

Hey Rolland, are you sure? I thougth it was the opposite... I thought swaybars are indeed there to counter traction rolling problems. In the absense of a front sway bar, the front will roll more and hence you get more traction and steering. More than that and the car will traction roll...

Not satisfied with the car? Yes, all cars were equally competitive. It just showed that the person behind the Tx is very important and in this case, it showed that Michael had the edge with his experience in 1/8th scale nitro racing

I know per-ola hasnt been using it for a while. he got the tip from Julius i think...

I was told that Craig Dresher were faster than Mikael but his engine flamed out a couple of times.. and later on lost all power..

Rolland, any inside information regarding the .12 KHM modified Novamega engines?

How did they compare with the Rody tuned and the new JP modified NS12S3?

Let me put it like this... You can never by a engine like the one Salven / Fantini etc are using... The real key for a god engine is howe every thing fits...especyally the piston/linear.... And do you want to by a engine that is only god for one race??

Yes you probebly van by a engine that has similer work to it like the Italiens has or mr Salven but it will not be as good either way...
A friend of mine got a picco from Alberto that he has used... it had none special work to it but every thing had the right fit.. and the performance was GREAT...

besides its not a engine that wins.. its the driver and his setup skills... Per olas and Teemu Saarinens engines are realy great but i have beating them at every race with a almost stock MR12....

So you're saying that a fast engine will have the least resistance in the piston liner etc where everything just fits nicely?

I would think that people like Fantini would have the best matched Piston/sleeve sets seeing as he works at Novarossi. In the end obviously you can't rely largely on having the most horsepower at big events, cause some are always going to have more then the rest which is the case with the Italians!

Ummm, anybody want to share how you select piston / sleeve fitting if one was given the chance to do so? I always wondered what engine tuners mean when they say they lap the piston and the sleeve to fit...

Also for normal sponsored drivers, do they go into the LHS and open up the engine to check piston / sleeve matching?

No not realy.... I am not a engine specialist...and its hard for me to explain it in english... but every part of the engine has to have the right fitment and its takes a LOT of time to find every part that matches.... its impossible for a engine supplier to do so for the public...JP, Mario Rossi, Rody etc has some work to them but none of them has the little extra in them like the real team engines has... they are all the same engins with some minor work done inside of them..
