What's the big difference between the 705 and the Impulse Pro?

Radio tray, chassis, tank, battery, radio tray support, graphite side chassis brace stiffeners, rear bulk heads, rear ball diff and of course the new Centax II and new 2 speed lightened gearbox.

The way the pulleys are mounted on the 705 are different from the Impulse PRO. The pulleys mount with the help of pulley adapters with grub screw to secure on the shaft. Looks more like how it is mounted on the Impact and the Vector series.

Do you guys who have the 705 already see anything that you wished you would have gotten along with the car. Like hollow 2 speed shaft? Aluminum front sway bar mounts? Spring steel outdrives? Vented brake rotor?

Default new SERPENT 705 question

I've raced electric - not nitro - but a serious nitro-racing friend ordered 3 Serpent 705's and just gave me one to put together (and most tools - except for the Centax II clutch tools I know I will need to get that together. I was also given the Hudy ultimate set-up, break-in bench, along with the Novamega 5P MS Turbo, outlaw pipe among other goodies. I've read Nitro Basics / Nitro Tuning upside down and backwards. Any advice before I dig in?

You'll need the batt.'s that are not included for the receiver, and visit tsn.com

Thanks for the feedback. - mytsn.com has been a great source - Do you know where there's another good on-line source for ordering Serpent parts? Ashfordhobby.com, atomichobbies.com looked allright - just wondering if you know of some other places...

Yup. The optional lightened aluminum pivot balls 808347

Anyway, the 2 speed hollow shaft that fits fine on the Impulse is not the same as the one that came with the 705. Everything is the same except for the flatened parts for the grub screw to mount the 18T pulley and the 23T brake pulley and the new hole position for the pin to mount the 2 speed clutch shoe. You can still use the fixed pin on the old hollow 2 speed shaft to mount the 23T aluminum brake pulley adapter as there is a slot provided for it.

That can easily be done but I do not see how you can drill a new hole for the pin for the new lightened 2 speed gearbox. I believe the new one requires a position for the hole mounting to be slightly futher out.
