Great questions. Apparently, I forgot to inquire them about those. Was too excited to see it comes ready with Floating Mount. I'll surely find that out for you. Stay tuned.

Seems as if the Thai version is more aimed at the outlaw/lola body class? Probably wouldn't be a very good seller here in the states.

Great pics Eddie!

GREAT PICS EDDIE!!

I guess the Thai Team did'nt want the ball diff, c.f. shock towers and the 7mm spacers!?!?!?
Looks like they race an "Outlaw Class" in Thai!!

BTW- My hobby store just received their first 835 yesterday!!

Punisher - how much is the 835? Is it at HobbyTown or thru Atomic Ron?

Hi JBrake,

From what I learned of, they did everything they could to get every juice out of the engine and the car. When they race, the only rule is engine size and car. Other than that, it's all up to the driver, no IFMAR, no ROAR; which I think it's kinda cool to have this "Open" racing sometimes in the States.

Hi Punisher,

I did inquire them about the 835 and learned that 235mm had been a history for Thai. I really don't know the real reason, but they only race 1/10 and 1/8. There are many 950's running at the track already. Gotta admit that 950 is a real beauty beast Serpent has yet made, ever.

drooling... but wife already said no!

YANMAN,
The (south) HobbyTown has the 835 for $449 for the 4wd version.......
Not a bad price for HobbyTown!!

Yes!! A friend of mine looked at the 950 at Nats in Miami this past week. He told me and showed me some awesome pics of the 950 up-close. Salven was working on Bruch's car when he also talked to him about the car. The 950 might be on my x-mas list next year!!

Yes, I believe in this region, mostly run their cars like that. Well, we don't run Lola bodies but we adhere to the only rule which is the engine size and car.

The reason why people around this region do not drive the 235 mm class is because, they cost about the same as running a 1/8 with foam tires. The 1/8 scale is faster too.

Whilst if they need to run like the 235 mm class, they modify their 1/10 200 mm.

I want to change my v1s stock tyres to a new one. However there is one thing that I dont quite get yet.

I understand the concept of tyre and insert. My question is; can the insert be harder than the tyre?

darthkir, Not sure what you mean by the insert being harder than the tire. I assume you mean you want to use a soft compound tire with a firm insert. If that is what you are saying than that situation in general would be well suited for a very smooth track on a cool or even cold weather day. Maybe some of the Rubber tire racers out there can help you out a little more, or give us some more info.

Thanks Jbrake!

I was only thinking that if the insert is harder than the tyre compound than it would defeat the purpose of the tyre being soft, since that what we want the tyre to be, correct?

Since my temperature here ranges from 31 -34 degree celcius, what combination would you suggest?

darthkir, I typically run foams so I don't have much experience with rubber tires. The only rubber tires I have run and done any "testing" with are the HPI R series tires. For your temp range the 33R's would be the logical choice. As far as inserts, that really depends on the condition of the track. The smoother the track the firmer the insert you can run. If you are racing, your best bet is to ask some of the fast guys what they are running.
