Default Compare please!

I hope I didn't make too much of a mistake. I bought the STS Pro-10 II Nitro Touring Car 2k3 Plus Edition. But after reading the reviews on the Serpent 705, I am hoping I didn't blow it. How would you guys compare the STS PRO 10 II to the 705? The STS has every hope up all ready included.
check out the STS PRO 10 II

The STS Pro is almost very similar to Serpent Pro BUT not the 705. The layout of the 705 is different from the Pro, but not all components. Better still, once u got your STS pro, go visit this site and understand the different components. .

http://www.mytsn.com/products/desc.asp?prid=2471

If u had read the earliest post on this forum, there was some discussion about the different between the Serpent Pro and the 705. Since STS pro is almost identical to Serpent Pro, u can get the reference from there.

Hey guys

When I move my car backwards(engine off) it won't go. If I force it to move it will but sounds like something's bindingand it won't move freely. Also when I run the car and I accidentally spin out it moves backwards and stalls the engine.Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks

It sounds like one of the bearings in the clutchbell has blown. Take it apart and check the bearings

Hmm I don't think so. This happened right after I finished building the car. I might be. I sometimes hear a "grinding" or "scratching" noise near the flywheel/clutch part. Thanks

Check your two-speed shaft or gearbox assembly. Make sure the spur gears move freely with out the motor on the car. If it doesn’t its something to do with the gearbox assembly.
Also recheck the screw size you put in the rear brake brace on the bulk heads.

Default Upstop settings

Hi Guys,

One thing I don't see mentioned in any setup information (or maybe I've missed the information somehow), is how to set the upstops.

Is there some Golden-Rule for this? or does it not really matter, as long as the shock has enough travel?

PS: Wings for Touring-Cars: is it worth buying one of the bigger Serpent touring car wings? Has anyone tried one?

Cheers, Mark.

Mark,
The Up-stop setting is for the people that dont like the chassis to bottom out. Your conclusion on the setting is correct.... it dosn't really matter, as long as the shock has enough travel.

As for the Serpent touring car wing, I beleave thats a matter of preference.

You can never tell in this hobby but I dont think they will be bringing out a completely new car for a long time yet. The 705 is really competitive right now and when something is winning why change it

The 705 only came out a few months ago, it isn't going anywhere for a LONG time. Mabye in about a year or two, Serpent will release the "710" or something like that, and i'm sure there would be an upgrade kit, but again, this is highly unlikely to happen anytime soon. The 705 is here to stay!

Just for your information, team drivers do not use the upstop screw. They let the chassis bottom out. They claim that using upstops, the "spring rates" will reach infinity when the arms hit the upstop screws and the car will spin out.
