JR XS3 vs. Airtronics MX-3S

Hello all,

First off, I'M NEW!!! I know enough to get by, but I have been relying on my local shop for information. Now that I have found this, I will come here for most of my needs.

As the title states, I really need to upgrade my radio. I'm currently running my stock radio with my CD3. Currently no upgrades. So, I'm using my OFNA AM 2 Ch radio and receiver with stock servos. Which radio is better: JR XS3 or Airtronics MX-3? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

I am joining a local on-road nitro club (www.oneeighthracers.com) and am looking at starting up racing next season, and I'm looking at doing some minor upgrades throughout the winter.

Thanks for any/all information that you can provide, and reading this absolutely boring post.

Of the two I would go with the MX3S because I had a Xs3 pro and the stupid thing was broken out of the box and it took JR over 6 months to finally straighten it out. However I would suggest looking for a used M8. They can be found nicely priced and are great radios. If you want synthesized you can get a novak switch module (I have one for sale $30 shipped) or better yet go spektrum (best thing I ever did)

I like the JR XS3 radios. You can find them fairly cheap nowadays. Its synthesized, but so is the airtronics MX3-S. You can't go wrong with either choice. Get the cheapest of the two.

Thanks for the input. Right now there is an inexpensive MX-3 on ebay. Has anyone ever delt with Hobbydealsusa?
