I have both 1040 and VR12. I like 1040 better in terms of performance and quality, but VR12 is cheaper

hello, what glow plug are you guys running with your TZ ? i know there are only certain brands will work with TZ and just to be safe i bought 2 dozen of OS P3 ultra hot plugs , has anyone running this plug ? I have been running medium sometimes medium hot in my nova based engines but never run a hot plug let along ultra hot, i only bought it because the hobbyshop where i purchased the enigne recommmend, he said OS TZ works best with hot plug..what do you guys think ?

i was debating if i should go with RD turbo 3 or just bite the bullet try the OS 1040, i have been running RD turbo pipe in my nova based enignes and has had good experience with them. I ended up bought the OS 1040 just want to try something different, pipe looks good can't wait to see how it runs

Hi...Tag

Are you sure that you brought "P3"? As far as I know TZ is running on Turbo plug and Turbo plugs range are P6 (Hot), P7 (Medium) and P8 (Cold).
Please check on the link http://www.os-engines.co.jp/english/...g/pluindex.htm

hiya Tag,
for a .12 sized engine, it doesn't really matter if you use the P3 plugs... as long as your nitro level is not extreme( >30%)... as a matter of fact, i am running a Zac modefied TZ12 with only 0.3 mm shim, P3 plugs, 30% nitro..... it runs beautifully with no detonation. i have fabulous idling and i can turn down the idling screw to insanely low settings and still get a snappy response to full bore, and i live and race in the hot humid tropics.
the best indicator of whether you are using the right plug is color, "wetness" and condition of the glowplug right after a run. make sure the coil is not distorted nor charred. the area around the glowplug CAN be darkened but the wire should be slighty greyed or shiny still.
also check to make sure that the piston top is not chipped as this is an indication of detonation.
have fun!

Default Zac modded OS Tz12

hiya Mrgsr!
i am using the 5 port version cos the 3 port is not available here in singapore( we dont believe in 3 porters)
it has more oomph then the regular 5 porter for sure, seems to idle just as well( maybe cos i use 30% nitro)
the crankshaft is lightened and epoxied, an extra turbo cutout is done on the right side of the crank pin.
the sleeve looks more like a novarossi sleeve
and of cos, all black anodising and Zac heatsink head.
i mate it with a Zac 6mm pipe, which is pretty good, i am thinking of trying a 6 mm pipe from sage racing, it has awsome power at all rpms.

Ziggy12345 thats a good question. I looked at the site closer and I can't really tell if you can order direct from Kawahara or not. Too much Japanese (or whatever it is) for me to make it out. I like would like to try one of these Zac's Project TZ's because the stock TZ runs very strong. Anyone else out there know???

Ishiimokei. Co. Ltd. [[email protected]]

I emailed this guy who said he would try to get hold of them. If you send him a mail it will show others are interested which might spur him on
