Middle shaft adjustment 1/8 onroad
How much side to side play should my middle shaft have in it? When I purchased the car, it had quite a bit. I can set it up and shim to have next to none. Does it really need to wander back and forth to keep from spitting belts off of the pulleys, and chassis flex? I would appreciate advice to see what direction I should go here. Thanks

What car are you talking about? Serpent, Mugen, wrc, arc etc etc? Most of the cars have a bit of play of the middle shaft which is nothing to worry about and it won't spit the belt off. How much exactly is the play? 0.5mm 1mm?

It was quite a bit 4 to 5mm+. I took up the space with shims and to make sure main belt runs straight, parallel with the chassis, and direct shot from pulley to pulley.

That seems way more than should be. Did you have the kit new? If you got it used Have you checked to make sure it's the right shaft install/assembly for the car as other manufacturers parts may fit other cars just may exhibit play etc as you have. Shimming it out is fine but 5mm of play isn't normal.

Which car? And which middle shaft? The gearbox shaft or the short shaft near the steering servo?
I believe a Serpent has a small spacer behind the gearbox, Mugen for sure not.
Most cars have a pretty good mounting, if you have excessive play on the gearbox shaft then you als should check if the bulkheads are not bend.

Missing bearing or shaft is on the wrong way?
