I ran that combo all summer with no problems. I use the Novak regulator.
Some servos could handle the extra voltage but I did not want to chance it with mine.

By the way, low voltage cut-off has no effect on whether or not a lipo goes up in flames. Excessive voltage during the charging process is where the fire risk is. The voltage cut-off (on-board) would be there to keep the cells from getting too low on voltage. The danger is in the cells inabillity to recharge if taken down to far.
