It will have much more than you expect.
gone will be these issues.
rear shock tower issues
clutch issues
steering issues
belt issues
gear issues
plus more.
I'll let you put it together as to what it will have as I am sure you have seen K factory parts to improve alot of this.

I bet it is the problem of your servo

Never have sliiped clutch in both, rechech teh setting of your clutch

I have excellant break (too much break) and never drag or no break, same word, check your setting, the two screw that hold the break pad

Don't bedisappointed with TM, their car is good, just spend a little time examine the car, most of time, those symptom you mention is more due to the skill of assambly

You are a tool if you think the problems i had with my G4 12mnths ago were because of the user. If this is your thinking, maybe you can explain to me why we have seen three different steering systems and three different types of Centax clutches?????

So you can crash the car in total 9 different combos.... j/k
I guess the options are probably opted for different track layouts and driving styles.

First of all, I am not a "tool" nor you are in any position to judge my intelligent.
3 steering systems and clutches to me are for personal preference. at least I have no trouble with both rail and swing type steering, my car run straight.
and I don't have issue with clutch nor break
Having 3rd generation of clutch not neccasary mean the previous version is bad, it just mean not perfact which perfaction is very difficult to achieve.
after repair many cars in my LSH, I noticce that yes there might be so imperfaction in design or product quality, however I do see many people having issue with their cars not because it is faulty product but their skill to build and maintain their ride. I do not mean that I have perfect skill, I will never have perfect skill.
I don't know how close your building skill to perfection, mine definatly far. if a lousy person like me have no problem you should be able to overcome the problem on your knowledge.,

one things that is fun about RC is to make things works. don't you think so?

Righto... as you and your Mongoose are still wet behind the ears i will let you enjoy being on cloud nine for a little longer.

Good luck with your Mongoose! I will keep a watchful eye on the progress of the G4 S and you never know what happens in the future

let me state it clearly:
(never have that problem from my G4-E or Mongoose)
the "G4-E" mentioned above was the first generation, and now I get a new Mongoose, so I am not new to G4

I will enjoy my Mongoose
please feel free to get what you think is good

these are some problems i encountered:

1. weak chassis - i had the original metal-stamped stock chassis. doesn't require a big hit to warp easily. (ok .. driver's error!!)
if u have the tough KFactory ones <- they are indestructible.

2. leaking KFactory fuel tank
- i upgraded the stock fuel tank to the KFactory one.
- after a number of races, noticed that the area on the upper radio deck was always wet with fuel. so i did the bubble test , by immersing it under water. pretty shock to see it leaking!
- the stock G4 tank did not leak though
- so i'm back to using the stock, albeit smaller, tank

3. flywheel
- the original G4 thread contained discussions on this
- i had the exact same problem as highlighted by other G4 owners (the 3-pc centax flyweight getting stuck on the edge of the flywheel) - resulted in a slipping clutch
- many pple, including Motorman, recommended a simple fix of filing the edge of the flywheel. it worked a treat. but required trial and error to get the correct amount of material to file away.

4. stripped rear belt when a pebble was stuck (again .. my error for running it on a netball court!)
- replaced it with a V1R belt as recommended by some drivers
- the V1R belt looks twice the width of the stock G4 belt! it looks really, really tough!

apart from the above, i think the G4 is a great value for money.
i'm still racing mine and more than happy with it.

ps - the original G4 thread had tonnes of good info about weaknesses & work-arounds.

definately G4, wait for the S at Jan 2006, R40 is good car but you need more hop-up on it except you get the HARA edition which is so much pricier.
but the real concern is the source of parts, get what you can get parts for, still I am happy with G4
