The changes are minor hence its just an EVO release and so this discussion should remain in the original 977 viper thread IMHO. Lots of very good info in that thread which carries over. All I can see so far is a new rear body mount and front lower suspension blocks, optional lower shock mounting positions. Chassis plate looks slightly different around the centre too.

Looks like new gears/gearbox and flex at rear of tray also.

Minor? i don`t agree with you. Could be the brackets are also higher to get room for these bigger spurs.
Edit, i agree it can remain in the 977 thread, Dan

Serpent classes it as minor as it's an evo release. If it was a major update then it would be a different number like 988. The 966 went EVO then TE then TEv2 before the 977 came along. It will be a positive step forwards of course but I wouldn't class it as major change, not at all. The radio tray looks like they've just moved the flex point from front to back like the 748.
But hey let's wait for the official release statement from Serpent.

Spurs will not be signifigantly different in size , the higher tooth counts represent .8 Module gears , same as on the 748

Victor Wilck was running some updated shocks on his electric touring car at the Reedy Race. Perhaps these could make it into the update, too.

Can a mod move this into the 977 viper thread please?

I spoke to Mark Green about the Evo update at the first national of this year, he'd been testing some of the parts at the Winternats in Florida, I think the chassis is redesigned to flex like it does when the bottom weight sliders are cut out, the flex ball bearing race has moved to the rear like the Shepherd and Mugen, and there is a new small gear box which he said is so small it's unreal. Other than that he was pretty tight lipped as usual.
I'm sure there's more than this knowing Serpent, they generally don't do "small" updates, but i'm interested to see what they've done!

From what I saw,
the front suspension lower mount have optional width,
the aero bumper,
1st and 2nd gear,
and 2 speeds.
Look forward to upgrade
