Default Need a motor for my RS-4. Please help.

What do you guys think? I'm looking to spend around $100.

I was looking at something like this..

with these...
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXN373&P=7

Here are a couple pics of the old motor and the car. Bought it used, and the cervos and all still work, so it looks like I just need a motor. Don't have the time for a rebuild. I'd rather just start fresh.

By the way, I'm going to take the head off the old motor and put it on the Rush. The Rush needs a differential rebuild. How much would that cost?

i think that motor is way too much power for the car.......but you can't beat the price....so go for it.......(just go easy on the trigger,speedy... )

If you want a balanced car, go with any .12 with side exhaust. The .18 has too much torque, which will just damange your 2-speed tranny.

The OS CV or CV-Rs are great engines for the car, or the .12 HPI Nitro Star made by Nova Rossi.

Could you please send me a link from that site on the motor I should get? I want something faster than stock, but not enough to damage other parts. I just want something somewhat I could play around with.

Will those wing mounts work?

I say go for the 18.........(esp since it has the gear diffs.......)

BTW,the car has a 1 speed in it.......those motor mounts are fine...make sure the chassis has the 4 slotted screw holes in the bottom for adj. motor mounts...

That's how it came off. 4 holes on the bottom. No spot for the wings.

That 18 is ok? Would you recommend anything different?

the motor that was in the car has built in motor mounts......those fit in 4 pre driiled holes in the bottom of the chassis.....there should be 4 other holes, slotted,to add regular motor mounts(those wing things you are referring to.0........just make sure they are there.......(I'm pretty sure the racer 2 chassis, which is what you should havemhad those.....).....I built all 3 of my racer 2's from scratch..using the HPI super chassis's.....so I'm not sure what the stock chassis looked like...

I should get the rotary valve right? Isn't that what the previous motor was setup for?

The 18 won't mess up anything on the car having that much power?

I think I'm going to order a motor on Thursday.

Are there any better prices/places to buy from? Post up any links please.

Found a coupon for $20 off any order of $149 or more. I'm already at like $116, so if I order $30 more of stuff, it only costs around $10 more. Basically, the order comes to about $125, what I expected anyways.

This is what I have so far...I need something for like $5, so I figured an extra glowplug.

Which of these glowplugs do I need?
