I have the first version bought in 2006....love it!
I think the only difference in the 2.0 is the addition of the dust tray and battery pack option. Cuts 2 or 3mm (or more), no bog on the motor. Get the Hudy carbide bit and you'll never need to replace it. The only thing with the Hudy bit is you may need to re-mark the calibration mark.

No never tried it cuz Hudy I bought back in '95 and still useing at this time with no problems. Plus Hudy cuts conically. Better truer. If investing on a truer, go for the best. You'll happy that you made the decsion onHudy.
