lookin gooood nice to see more and more 1/8th on road... if it gets more affordable to get into the class ie kits down to a 500 - 800AUD consistently.. would be exciting to see numbers grow.. mm so far ive counted 10 brands..

Not only trying to get these kits affordable but if someone could develop a rubber tire to run on other surface (for those that don't have a groomed asphalt track to run these cars), that would be the bomb!!

Think the problem is rubber tires on less than perfect asphalt almost defeats the purpose of 1/8 gp. Almost like running an f1 car on public roads... Impossible to truly appreciate what these cars are about. And a 1/8 gt car would then handle better in those circumstances possibly...

KISS makes rubber tires - they are actual rain tires. Basically capped foams. This would be an option for you. Although it limits your overdrive options. They are awesome in the rain. I recall running the grooved rubber tires back in the day and theses are 100 times better. I know it boils down to better compounds.

Those tires will not stand long on a dry track. You can take a look at the Edam Razor RTR which does come with rubber tires.....

They arew only available on Serpent rims but maybe only the tire can found somewhere.

As to speak to what Roelof already posted, I have not run these tires in the Dry, only Wet.

I was not aware of the Edam tires, and am curious myself now, are those fully cased tires with an insert and how they do with traction compound ?

They are just RTR tires, I have seen them and they are hollow with probably an insert but the grip is less regarding that driver. Maybe something for damp...

I think you missed what I was getting at. I am talking about developing a rubber tire that you don't have to have a smooth asphalt track to run. For parking lot racing (club), some places only have less-than-perfect asphalt or slightly abrasive concrete that foam tires are useless. But if they made a rubber tire (like you can get for a 200mm car), then you can run these cars almost anywhere (which was the intent of my original post). I run both 8th scale pan and 8th scale GT but prefer the Pan-style car. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to run those cars without always having a perfect, groomed, smooth asphalt track???

So far looks like the new chassis is doing well for Daniele Ielasi this round of the ENS. Did notice though that he is not running the WRC version of Project Push quick release wheel System, but rather a standard setup.

I know there are some issues with the push release sytem when rims do fit very tight. With the normal levers you can always help them to secure the rims, the push release system can not be helped with tight rims.
