Protoform 200mm Lola T530 Body

Dale mentioned something about this some time ago in another forum thread, and now it looks like it's ready. I love it. I want one, even though I know they aren't legal in any class around here. Maybe this would be worth trying to get a 200/235 outlaw class going locally. Maybe this may just catch on once people get a handful of downforce and don't want to go back to Strati.

BTW, the frame/page of info can be found on Protoform's website here.

From pro-lineracing.com:

In recent years there has been a growing demand for "all-out" styled open cockpit bodies to fit the popular 200mm gas powered 4WD cars. The few bodies currently available just didn't fit the modern chassis too well because of the high front shock tower and shock configuration. Well, PROTOform has solved this problem with its all new 200mm Lola T530.

This body features all the aero "tweaks" of it bigger brother, the PROTOform 1/8th scale Lola that recently TQ'ed at the IFMAR Gas Worlds in Messina. It also features a unique rear spoiler that's suited for long fast straight-aways and an add-on spoiler extension with "wicker bill" for shorter, tighter tracks. It comes with clear protective film, spoiler mounting hardware and decals. If you've always wanted to convert that gas sedan into a high-speed "outlaw class" racer, now's your chance!

Features:
· A first from PROTOform
· Protective paint-then-peel over spray film
· Add-on spoiler extension included
· Made from .030 Lexan

-- Sounds awesome and im sure with how things are going touring cars will soon be smaller 1/8scales anyways. They already pretty much minus a lola body and a floating rear body mount. But I like how they compensated for our front shock towers and such. Good move protoform. http://rctech.net/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Wouldn't the Lola on a 200mm car direct all the downforce to the rear of the car.

If so I would say the Lola would be a thumbs down.

there are modifications you can make to certain cars to have the rear wingmount to put the bodies downforce onto the rear suspension, just like the 235 cars.... :D

re reading your msg., NO ! don't you see that wedge shaped nose? believe me , the TC will think it's and 8th scaler.

AAANNNDDDDD, there is a ROAR class called 200mm Outlaw. It allows 32mm wide rear tires, and 5 port 12's....they run right with the 4wd 235mm, turbo .15 powered original Outlaw calss.

Races I've been to that had the class, has been a toss up, sometimes the 235 car wins, sometimes the 200mm car wins.

And to think I used to like Protoform.

i think we should go for this class.. 200mm cars are getting faster and faster... touring shells are becoming a drag..so we should maximize the full potential of our cars...
