My money is on Adrien Bertin this year, or illeasi.
Bertin is a good driver but he is human, I hope he can back your words up, but then maybe not.
Any driver that attends this race has a chance of winning some are in a better position then others to do so.
American drivers are long over do for a 1/8TH scale world championship so look out Europe.
And as for Swauger even getting close; what planet do you live on do you even race RC cars check the records and get back with me.

Default Shimo

I want to tell you guys about Shimo. He was recently in Taiwan for the Kyosho cup and several people got to meet him and race against him.

There has been many top drivers from various manufacturers shown up in Taiwan for races over the years but Shimo deserves a special mention.

Instead of a air conditioned pit room prepare for him, he choose to pit with the regular racers out in the heat.

Instead of just focusing on his own game, he was very generous with his help. Not just an advise here and there but taking the time to help people set up their cars and rebuilding clutches for local racers.

But that's not it. He follows through and askes people if his help made the car work better. If not, he tries to figure out why and re-tune it.

So while I want to see the US drivers do well and win the worlds for the good ol' USA, I will too be rooting for Shimo, a great asset for Kyosho and the hobby in general.

1/8 onroad has the best competition in the world....and all I am seeing is US drivers being mentioned???

Japan and Italy will have HUGE contingents over there, and this will be a home track for the Italians.

John
And which one of these guys are American driver's?Oh my bag none maybe thats why you don't see there names being metion on a USA thread for racing.
We are not cheer leadeers all we wanted to do was wish our fellow racer's good luck at the worlds. Not act like cheer leaders and root for our favorite driver's.

People that are generally nice deserve good things to happen to them. Jeffery's story is a perfect example of why someone wishes a guy good luck.

wow someone took this personally

1st. There are many here that aren't from the US.
2nd. The thread name is "2005 IFMAR 1/8 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP"

Hey cheering for the hometown guy is cool....no probs there (I am backing Cyrul!). That being said no one was mentioning anyone other than guys from the US. Just starting the conversation on other great drivers out there.

It isnt the ROAR nats...its IFMAR. Truly an international event...dont take things so personal dude.

Not taking anything personal.
And the reason why no other drivers other than US drivers are mentioned is because we don't no them like we no the US drivers.
So with that said NO WE DON"T CARE ABOUT ANY OTHER DRIVERS OTHER THAN OUR OWN.

i do have 1 thing to say, with the 3 engine rule or limit how will the guys with sirio engines last.

i.e collari, bertin, etc etc. ......

at least the newbies with novarossi based motors will have a chance of having their motors last the duration
