Alright Mikey you're going down. I'll use that old school stick transmitter and drive with my feet and still kick your arse.
Hey don't blame me, Manticore was the one who posted this and left me an opening

Default I remember it well

Manticore;

That is EXACTLY my first Radio. I installed the Parma Pistol Grip conversion on the back. Sure made the throttle alot more comfortable.
I also had the Assoc. RC12E did pretty good with it.
But my FIRST R/C Car was the Associated RC200 1/8th Nitro Pan car. Had a K & B .21 Aero engine with the retangular clamp on head and the McCoy Gold "Can" muffler. The car was fun until I went to a big race at the Briggs Cunningham Museum in Newport Beach, Ca and tried to get some help from the Factory guys. I might as well been a Ghost. Not one person would talk to me. That's when I decided to sell it and get the RC12E. Sold that about 6 months later and got into planes. Wish that I had stayed into R/C Cars for all of these years. Glad to see there are some more BIG KIDS still around here.

Aaaaah, charging cord. YIKES!! We used to call them "Suicide Cords"
They were basically a cord with a battery plug on one end and a pair of clamps on the other. To charge a pack, you would connect the clamps to a 12 volt car battery, then connect the pack to the plug and wait about 15 minutes and hope for the best. If i was kinda hot, it was readyD

I also had that same radio. I wish I hadn't sold it.

We've come a looong way........

Those were great radios, I used them in boats. they were comfortable to use. I still have some narrow banded 3EGX gold case stick 3 channel radios. I may start using them again. They outlast this cheap plastic stuff hands down and they have serious output. 1 full watt, the new stuff is 1/4 watt. You don't have to worry about getting run over by another radio that is off tune. ever! 1 watt wins every time.
