don't mean to burst the kv1 bubble but with the mtx4 comming out you will find many cheap mtx3's on the market. if oyu are after a cheap second hand car i would recommend the mtx3 over the kv1 as it is a newer car, quicker car and parts are just as available. also setups for the mtx3 are more up to date.

I checked and found that parts interchangeable with G4 are:

-Front steering blocks
-Differentials
-Belts, pulleys
-Front and rear lower suspension arms, with slight differences in shock position options. On the KV1 lower and upper, on the G4 inner and outer
-Front upper susp. arm
-Rear uprights
-Universals
-Pivot Balls
-Wheel hexs

So there should be no problem with most wearable parts availablity...only thing I need to check is spurs and pinions compatibilty...I think the Trinity reflex parts should be their match.

Looks good to me...best RTR I've seen so far...fully loaded with optionals
I reafirm it is a Ready To Race car, more than a Ready To Run...just cahnge the .15 engine with a good .12...and hit the track.

AFM: Do you know if KFactory are likely to bring out spares for the KV1?

Heavy: I took your advice an went down to Mt Gravatt an checked it out in the flesh...

Everyone:

Firstly i would like to thank the LHS for allowing me to see a KV1 in the flesh. As AFM has already put it this car is "Ready To Race"! I was a little disappointed to see the front diff weeping as it did with the V1R. It did look a little fragile to what i remember the Kyosho being like. Having said all of this, i can see this car being a great "Club" car, but as Venom has said it will struggle against the latest generation cars.

If anyone has one an had some track time, can you please add your feedback

Yes they have them. All part numbers are in the car's manual. It depends on every distributor to carry them.

On a side note:
The exact car from which it is based, is the Trinity Reflex / NT / Team Only.
As you know, that was the first car Team Magic made before the G4.
So they've relaunched it as the best possible Entry Level Ready To Race 200mm car. That is the targeted market.
Expect performance to be similar as to what the Reflex had in it's time.

Actually the more i look at the KV1, and the more I search information, the more it confirms me that it is a re-run of the Trinity Reflex NT with a lot of the optionals of the Team Only version, and some improvements of it's own.

This is a car that uses all the top technology of around 2002, 2003 era, and was a direct competitor to the Serpent 705, Yokomo GT4, Kyosho V one R, RR
Mugen MTX2.

In 2002 in the hands of Josh Cyrul it placed second in the finals of thefirst 200mm World Cup held in Cincinati.

You can read the reviews and articles of the time here:

http://www.rc411.com/pages/reviews.php?review=22&page=3

http://www.rcnitro.com/articles/tunercar.asp

So it is a very capable high end RTR.

Is anyone running one of these cars? Can you please provide some feedback?

TM (KFactory are subsidery of TM) have released RTR versions of the G4, so what does this mean for the KV1?

I am also curious to know if the clutch supplied with the kit can only be used with a SG shaft engine or a threaded shaft like a OS Cv-x or a Force .12 etc?

I agree with VWO, who i can never seen or spoken to in my life and we do not know each other ( )

I've run a reflex for a race season and can say its a fantastic beginers car, but it lacks compared to any newer cars.

Btw, just some input. On my reflex, i have found i can also fit G4 belts, and hubs, and KV1 fuel tank clutch belts spurs. virtually everything is interchangable so i don't have much trouble with part support here in aus.

A tip for anyone running a KV1/reflex, ditch the stock rear shocks and put xray shocks on the rear and you can get a lot more droop out of that sucker!

but summing up, the reflex was a great learning curve for me, and for what you get as a RTR its a fantastic car. and looks rather nice on the shelf, which is where mine is going now

Btw, i want to add this, the reflex/KV1 doesn't lack in any major improvements in r/c, it has it all. Universal dogbones, a front one way option, centax option, low CG, a great 2 speed (i NEVER stripped any gears EVER), very nice brakes,

Thumbs up

I think the KV1 is about same as Trinity Reflex which runs pretty good. I highly recommend it.

Any of you guys got an electronic manual for the Trinity NT? I need some help with the two speed (mine has grub screws and ball bearings instead of rollers, and I need to know how to set it up). Also, where would I buy some clutch shoes (3 shoe clutch, not centax). I am slowly learning where all the bits come from to make up the NT (K-Factory etc).

Thanks,

Josh

The 2 speed page if you can (how to set/adjust), thanks a heap! Also, if it isn't too much hassle, the clutch/flywheel page?

Cheers,

Josh
