id suggest the MUGEN MRX4, very good car to race now, and overall they dont have to release new cars as frequent as serpent does, mugen does the job well so that no improvments are needed and performance is gurenteed!! a race wining car!! as you have seen at the 2001 sydney world champs if you where there or watched it on DVD etc...

If your giving advice to Robbie, I'm sure he'll run an MRX-4 considering he works and races for Mugen. We're all just messing with him.

the only down fall of 1/8 is the $50 to $70 fee for sighning up for a big race, I know I had to pay $70 to enter the reginals; wich I think was a rip off! no t- shirt at the least.

So keep-em coming

I kind of knew what you meant with the master's class...all I wanted to hammer home was that a new class would not ruin 1/8th.

Brian:
The Mega engine was exactly the type of engine we had in mind for a spec class. A reliable, quality built and inexpensive engine...In the earlier pages of this thread, even Paulo supported the concept of a SPEC class.

This issue has been to establish a set of guidlines...for the most part we surveyed the interent and the average price for a reliable, quality type engine was less than $300....a lot of people felt that a price cap would be difficult to use as the basis for the spec class as someone can purchase a used modified engine for less than $300.

So we moved to a port limitation with a non-modified crank, as it would be easy to monitor....in addition, so not to add unnessary cost to the racers, turbo plugs are permitted

Basically, a number of engine that meet this criteria were off-road type engines.

Default RE

Anything in the $200.00 to $300.00 range works for me. Spec engine....if we have to all run the same motor...that works for me too. I have the new and old version of the OS VZ-R engines....paid $239.00 and $259.00 for them. Both are quality motors that are fast enough for most. But again they are 7 port I think!! What ever the powers decide....I'll try it!

I'd say that Serpent Engine, an Old Nova Top PT21 SP1 like mine, the RB S7C, and the OS engine should all be in the spec classes. There may be more I don't know about.
