That sounds better. Don't race too much you'll burn out.

Points are a great way to keep it fun. Talk to Dana about doing a monthly "points" race.

I guarantee, you guys will have fun racing for points - just race for points on only one, predefined, weekend. Be sure to contact everyone so they know which is the "hot" weekend. Sounds like you guys will make it. Talk through your plans as a group - Verano, seems like a leader. Check out the RAMS point breakdown: http://www.rams-rc.com/ under header "Points"

A bunch of us "Northerners" are talking about coming down. Let us know which is the "hot" weekend. It will have to be January(ish) calendar is jammed right now.

A point series race one a month would be cool. Running your 1/8th scale car once a month will definitely keep the cost down. Walter , maybe you can talk to Dana about starting the series. Maybe have him set up a 6 race series with a one time sign up fee. This way you pay once and your entered for all 6 races.

I have been a proponent of a point series for a while now. I think part of the reason why people come and go in the hobby is that there is no structured way of racing. You're not racing for anything, just weekend races.

If there is a point series, it keeps people interested, points are a way to find out how good you are compared to everyone else. Even if its for bragging rights, with points you're racing for something.

Maybe it can be done with all 3 socal tracks, where we alternate the tracks.

We have a pionts series going locally, and it's done wonders for the turnout. In fact, on non-series racedays, the turnout is about 30%. Unfortunatly, we keep having tragedies; hurricanes, family members passing away(the LHC owner is the Race Director, and lost 3 people in a very short time, plus he tried to open a 2nd store, and Hurricane Dennis ruined his store, and all the brand new stock). None the less, a points series is a great way to keep racers comming.

Why not? -

The 1/8th scale racers in LA need to figure out who your spokesperson - or pointperson is.

What do you guys think??

I second that! Tires are way too expensive for me to be raceing every week.
