This is not a spec class nor is it a beginner class, it is a stock 1/8TH scale class with 21 motors.
All that is required is a stock 5 port engine.
I'm looking forward to racing this class because it will pitch skill against skill instead of power.
Stock meaning:
1.) 5 ports
2.) non-modified crank
3.) turbo plugs permitted

carl
RB and Novarossi still make big block 15's and they are readily available if people were using them for a class.

The 15 bigblocks are a direct bolt in a 1/8th car. PS a 15 bigblock and a 15 small block are two totally different animals when it comes to what they actually do in a heavy car. a 15 bigblock will smoke a 15 small block in a heavy car all day long. your right a 15 small block sucks because the rod is way to short and the geometry is all jacked up.

1lb of the weight is in the tires and additional engine weight on an 1/8th car.

The rotating drivetrain of an 835 and a 950 are almost identical (rotating inertia, which matters the most anyway)

12 sedan out numbers 10th outlaw because sedans suck with a vds on them. they get punted regularly.

you havent driven the combo so you can only speculate. I have so I know.

Spec 1/8th, prepare for teardowns. you know it I know it.

Given that, everyone has an opinion.

either one...YES

The only think that has not been finalized is the cost limit....I suggested no more than $350....prefer $300

We need some feedback on this one...I found price ranges between $229 - $299 from Bruckner Hobbies...

I'm sure there are other out there....

I would like to see it under $300. I guess we can work on this as time goes by.

This will be the rules on the west coast, I don't really care about weight and all that other stuff all I care about is price.
I know what engines cost and 5 ports are cheaper engines.

For prices I meant street prices.

Default 1/8

Now that's what I'm talking about. Robbie and Mike.....you don't know me by name but I have been racing 1/8 at Greater LA...ProCar West....CP....and almost all the Vegas races since 1993. I race at CP when I get the chance and if not working and you would recognize me by sight and not by name. I am in on the stock motor class. I have been pretty much running this class/type motors anyway for years. I need to know exactly what engines fall into this category if you know right off hand. I would guess you might see a few cars that are collecting dust on the shelf come out of retirement!! Let's give this a chance and if it fails...then so be it. Then we can say we tried.
