hi! its not a bad choice choosing the GPX4. It works really well. Very competitive although if you have the budget to get a more expensive car then go for a Kyosho RRR. Anyway, thrust bearing you can get them from where you bought your kit. We have a LHS here thats carrying exclusively Hobao Kits and Parts. I think theyre also shipping out to Australia.

Does anyone run there front more overgeared than the rear so the front spins slightly faster and do other side gears from other cars fit the GPX4.
Thanks

Had a good run today with the GPX-4/OS combo qualified third and went on to finish second overall. I was leading the first final until I braked too hard at the hairpin and stalled the motor dropped a lap and finished fourth but totally redeemed myself and won the second 10min final.I have started using a front diff instead of the oneway and it has helped me in the braking zones and helped laptimes on my local track.

Is your track low grip or high and is there any other Aussies racing this car we could compare setups.

i truly don't know of any other inddor bitumen tracks to compare it too. but from vids i've seen i'd say its a very high grip track. newly made about 10weeks ago. hobbyhabit are the aussie ditributors for hobao, so there are lots of guys here in adelaide with the gpx4. i dont have any accurate measurements of my car. i do it all by eye and feel. but if i can share anything that u could find useful, i'm more than happy.

What parts do I need to upgrade the RTR to a Pro?? I know the upper-chassis plate is different, and the chassis doesn't look exactly the same either..

i dont know all the exact parts, but ive seen that u buy a complete kit that lets u remove the obsolete parts from the rtr car and replace with the new pro parts. there's the shock towers, upper plate, new location for steering servo, tank, u remove the pullstart(will now need starter box) and put the backplate on and the main belt changes sides on the car. it's about AUS$200 all up. i think they're the main things.

It might be easier to buy a pro kit and use the RTR for spares thats what I did.

You need:

lay down servo conversion
Carbon Fiber Upper deck
Carbon Fiber Shock towers
new shaft for drive train to transfer the mid belt to the other side
new pulley for the same purpose as above
new chassis
flat pack for RX batt
Front one way

How much is the pro kit at some regular shops? This seems to be a great car for those who don't want to break the wallet, but how is durability? I mean sure mugen or kyosho is expensive, but say after breaking two of the same parts it would be the price of ONE mugen part that didn't break for a while no? I like the R40, but the only kit thats available with all upgrades is the price of the MTX-4.
