Default rubber and foam

Hi all,

I have an RRR WC and a G4 C-class. And i am planning to have rrr in foam and the g4 fitted with rubber. Reading from the posts in rctech i read that to fit rubber tyres, front differential is more suitable. With my G4 having a front differential, what other changes do i need to do to my g4 to maximise the use of the rubber tyres.

I'm not so sure about this but I think you should lossen up the rear camber. I had some on my r40 and the inside's wore out and eventually tore when I ran some hpi rubbers.

You definatly do not want to run that much toe in or out because the friction from the tire going against the aspalt will created more heat the more away from zero degrees of toe you have. This will make the tires too hot and wear a lot fast. Not to mention it will make your car slide all over.

The G4 was British National Champion on 2004 in the Rubber Tyre Class, and this is what Darren Johnson (the Champion) has to say about it.

Advice on Rubber Tires:

The car is good on rubber tires too!

There are set up sheets on the CML website for G4 on rubbers

I always ran an insert that fills the tire (you don’t want an air gap, not like electric). I like Sorex type-a medium, on a 24mm wheel with the tire of your choice, but always the same grade of tire front and rear.

Make sure you get the "R" compound. 33r's are for hotter weather.
