All right, so my question is, if I get a nitro car what kind should i get? I want one that goes fast but I want it to be UNDER $400, thats not including the controller so the car its self. And about how much do controllers run for the nitro cars?

Go to your local track or hobby shop and see what others are using.See what they are selling for parts.Buy a car where you can get your parts locally, trust youll be glad you did.

As far as radios,I wouldnt skimp here.Buy a good quality FM radio. They range in price up to over 300.00.I have a M 11 and I love it.It might be a little complicated for a beginner, but you can grow with it as your skills increase.

Well most kits don't come with a Engine, Pipe or controller so you would probly be better off with a RtR for a beginner and just move up from there maybe put a faster engine in it.

Absolutely,I didnt realize you were 14.A RTR is the way to go.This hobby can be quite expensive.I mean there are people that spend 400.00 just on the motor.A RTR will get you going and then you can get more involved as you make some money.

Look at the Schumacher Menace. It's a 4wd staduim truck that you can get RTR and it is very fast. It's pretty good for just about anything... except ROAR racing. It is illegal.

And "yes" you will need different tires for on and off road if you want it to work good on either surface.

Hi, I am also looking for a new nitro on-road. I have an HPI Nitro MT and an associated RC10GT that i got when i was 10 (that needs a new engine and lots of other things). i am willing to spen up to 450$ for the car kit itself, just need some help finding the right one. Can any of you steer me in the right direction. If it helps my LHS sells lots of HPI stuff, and associated (I think they might also have yokomo stuff there).

I was also wondering what would be the best engine to go with the kit would be. (I like kits because as your building them you get to know the car.)

Thank you in advanced.
