if swauger doesn't have mechanical problems, I would think he would be the fav to win this race. But in one hour mains the fastest car doesn't always win. Well I hope he does anyway since imho i think he is the fastest american driver for this year and he is way over due.

At the very least I will post final qualifying results and mains setup when the quals are completed (currently running race #10 of round 5)

Last night I posted a lot of info and photos on SGrid Online. Just got back from a great (much fun!!!!) dinner with Team Empire - I'm not quite in the mood to type a lot right now, but here's some information for you....

A) TQ's, etc.

Top finishers in Master's Class:
Ralph Morella
Harry Hananouchi (Mugen)
Randy Colvin
Dave Berry (Serpent)

Top finishers in Outlaw Class:
Josh Cyrul (Kyosho)
Paolo Morganti (Serpent)
DJ Apolaro (Serpent)
Art Carbonell (Mugen)

Top finishers in 1/8 4WD:
Josh Cyrul (Kyosho)
Scott Kimbrow (Kyosho)
Ralph Burch (Kyosho)
Mike Swauger (Mugen)

B) Race Summary:
In 1/8 4WD Mikey turned the fastest heat, but the Kyosho guys are really tearing up the track. That's three different racers from three different teams, all of whom happen to be running the Kyosho car. From Team Empire, this is due to "durability, reliability, and consistency". The cars are also extremely rugged - Kevin Woods came up on a car that flew from another lane and landed in front of him, and Kevin drove into it at full throttle - the other car was blasted out of the way, and Kevin went on to finish second in his Main. Rumor has it that some other teams are using Kyosho components in their cars. Engines? Josh is using Sirio, Ralph is using Novamax, and Scott is using RB, so it's the same car that TQ'd along with second and third, using three different engines. Mike Swauger is also extremely fast, putting in the single fastest run (with a pit stop at that!), but Kyosho seems to be dominating the event at this point.

In 200mm, Josh is the only racer who did an 18-lap run in his Kyosho, putting in a time that most of the 1/8 scale guys would have died for!

In a long Main, anyone can end up on top at the end, but at this moment the momentum seems to be going for Kyosho.

C) Dinner:
For those who don't yet know it, Team Empire is a Great bunch of guys to go out to dinner with! We went Mexican, and even with a hungry cat pretending it was a dog, begging at our table, it was one heck of a fun dinner!
