Which shore tires for MTX-3

Ok this may really be way out there but I'd figure I'd ask anyhow. Most parking lots are asphalt anyhow so.....
on the MTX-3 what are the more common shore tires to have on hand for both front and rear.

I also understand car setup and driving plays a roll here but I'd figure I'd ask before I went out and bought a set of ea and have some I'd never use.

Also what Starter box you guys using?

37 & 40 Shore should be a safe start. Remember softer = better grip but less wear. I had the best luck with those when I started.

Like most touring car's 40 shore all round (front and back) would be right to start with.

If you want 'balance' you probably will always run front and back in the same shore (actually, rear tyres are always a little softer)

So, start of with 40 shore, if you want more steering then 37 shore front could work right, but be ware that the car can be unbalanced then..

If you think 40 shore is to hard, just go to 37 shore all round, the tyre wear will increase ($$$), if that's not enough go to 35 shore, but that would be special :)

There are also some racers that use 37 shore rear, and 40 shore front, it depends on what you like... so my advice, start with 40 shore all-round...

Thanks for the input I understand about the trade off for going softer on the tires. Yrs ago when I raced 1/4 scale winston cup style cars we had 4 different caps on our cars and had probably 30 - 40 tires in a tote depending on track conditions. Small tracks we would use foams on the insides and capped tires on the outside.

Thanks again I'll order me some and be ready I'm still gathering up parts and such to have as spares and am looking for a starter box for this car.

35 Shore - Soft

37 Shore - Med

40 Shore - Hard

42 Shore - Extra hard

Softer the tire, the easier they wear.

I would start with 37's all around.

I like to run 40's all the way around or if traction isn't ideal i'd run 42's front and 40's rear.

Most MTX-3 guys (and me with my G4) around here runs 37 front and 40 rear when traction isn't ideal, when traction is better we run 40 fronts and 42 rear.

anyone tried those 30 shore from hpi. i know that has to be soft as a pillow

start around 37 shore. I think that's what comes with the kit originally. If you know mugen seiki, you know that they are gonna put the best shore tires for the mtx-3 or any of their cars. That's why mugen seiki is number 1 in the industry in cars, service, and quality. Hope this helps.
