Well I've never had an R/c car I've driven them but I want too get one and I've been looking at the HPI RTR RS4 3 EVO and the HPI R40. I was wondering how fast the R40 was and if it is for street use?

if you must get an HPI, i'd suggest getting the R40.
cos if you intend to race in the future, the R40 is raceworthy.
but if you just intend to bash arnd and run on the street and in the carpark alot, then the rs4 3 it is.
the R40 is more of racecar, not much suited for street use but definitely better performing than the rs4 3.
on the other hand, you'll have to buy an engine and tx/rx/servos if you're getting the r40 whereas the rs4 3 is ready to run.
basically it all boils down to how much you're willing to spend and how far you intend to go in this hobby...

if you don't have to get an HPI, there are also other good nitro touring cars out there, eg. kyosho v1rrr, associated nitro tc3 and mugen is gonna come out with the new mtx4 soon. the kyosho v1rrr is highly recommended cos it is very driveable and competitive in the stock set-up.

You can bash the R40 on the streets if you want too. Thats what I did with mine. Personally I would've gotten the MTX3 or Serpent as they come with more out of the box. The R40 allows you to choose your choice of engine and pipe plus its more durable than the other HPI onroads. Great choice for both street and track. Another good reason to go R40 is if you do have that feeling of hittin the track in the future as said.

Thx that did help alot I just want too get an HPI because my Hobbie shop has a ton of replacement parts for them just in case I break something I don't wanna wait 2 weeks too get a replacement part.

if you dont plan on racing on the track, get the rs4 3 18ss kit. dont have to spend nearly as much on it as you would with an r40, and its shaft drive so you dont have to worry about dirt and rocks and leaves messin up the belt on the r40. rs4 if your just lookin for a 1st car to bash around in the street, r40 if your ready to be more careful and want to take it to the track.

engine depends on how much you have to spend on it.

Im not really sure but I think I can afford it if its not too much like a 200 dollar engine

200 for just the engine? then you can get a .12 tz from www.rc-mushroom.com or get the r40 and engine from www.towerhobbies.com . if you go with towerhobbies they have a rossi black pixi .12 . its the gold and silver engine with the sg shaft. its 194 the os from the other site is 195, not shipped and the shipper isnt in america. engine is a prefrence thing mostly, but of course some are better than others. i suggest you shop at www.towerhobbies.com if your gonna go with hpi. they sell all replacement parts for them, all kits and everything, and they sell all the hpi stuff the cheapest. they also have that .12 tz on thier site but its 220 there.
