Default Michael Salven

Wow, I should have got his autograph while I was collecting them! I got the whole Associated team to autograph a FT TC3 box, and I got Matt Francis & Josh Cryl to autograph a Worlds T-Shirt. They're already hanging on the wall in my shop! I just don't have a clue who any of the foriegn guys are, but they're all there. I can tell you Michael Salvens car was the one everyone was timing. His engine was screaming down the straight, passing the 1/10 2WD(I think) .15 turbos! He was right on pace with the fastest of the sedans. He also was driving a 1/10 2WD(I think), I didn't see which Serpent model it was though. His sedan had 705 plastered down both sides. I can't believe the way he drives with a stick controller!

people being fast with stick radios isnt unusual to me, what is unusual is the way michaels holding it, puts the strap to good use also does anyone know if frank calandra is racing. i would expect him to be a big chance in 235.

from my tsn...

"Some Practice Times
The track is looking good, and many of the racers already have their cars working pretty well. I don’t have much data to report yet, but I copied down some information from the scoring computer, that was tracking all the cars using Personal Transponders during practice. The following represents a practice session late in the day. Some interesting information from the screen:

name mph lap time
Joel Johnson 29.4 mph 27.7 seconds
Barry Baker 36.5 mph 22.4 seconds
Mike Blackstock 35.2 mph 23.2 seconds
Jacob Delano 33.3 mph 24.5 seconds
Brian Berry 27.8 mph 29.4 seconds
Chris Doseck 33.2 mph 24.6 seconds
Walter Henderson 33.4 mph 24.8 seconds

In asking around later, I was told that Ralph Burch is getting down to 23.1 second laps, and Michael Salven is down to 23 and 24 second laps. Local ace Jacob “the snake” Delano is two seconds better than his times at the Nationals, and is out there running with lots of high powered “famous” racers!

By 8:00 or so, it was getting too dark to practice, and everyone headed off for their hotel or a local restaurant for dinner. The schedule calls for another day of practice tomorrow, starting around 9:00am (assuming the rain we’ve been reading about doesn’t interfere with these plans)"

...kinda sucks we probably wont see times today...its raining a storm up here in Columbus...but this is going to be one hot race...I am going to roll up their on saturday when the mains happen...I can't wait...5 mroe days...w00t!

I always thought he uses the Sanwa / Airtronics gun. Anyway he'll be using the 835 for the 1/10 2WD.

Is 1/8 WC Kenji Osaka there with Mugen? Well, if you don't know him, just get RCCaraction magazine and look at the Mugen add. LOL, Michael's picture is also there

Wow, Barry & Mike are tearing it up already! Was there anything posted for Bill Easton? I think you may be surprised and see these guys go even a little faster. Go Associated! I did see an entire area full of guys wearing black Kyosho shirts, so yes I believe they're there. I only saw 3 guys wearing Mugen shirts Saturday and none of them where Kenji, him I would recognize (I used to have a MRX-3). I overheard several people saying that not everyone was there yet. In fact an entire row in the pits was still empty. I was at the fence with a few guys who where timing Michael Salven, and you wouldn't believe how fast a 23.5 sec lap looks! The Associated guys did say they had seen several guys run 22's, so thats the time to beat. Man is that fast! I'm doing my best to get down for the mains. I probably won't video tape, I tried that yesterday and things are just moving too fast. Lots of photos though. The track is awesome!

None that I could see! I'll post here if & when I'll be there, look for the NFL linebacker, 6'3"-230lbs. I'll be carrying a few camera bags as well.
