Hi,

Can anyone give me information about Clubs / Countries that have competitive racing on the 200mm nitro category running with Rubber Tires ?.

Thanks a lot ...

biggest class here seems to be rubbers aswell....certainly not like drifting, not far off foam pace imo

I'm in Astoria and unfortunately for me the only place to run is a parking lot..
soda helps with the traction..

I will be moving to Portland in about a yr, so until then its bone stock, learning and practicing..

if you can travel, rcsr has racing every other saturday at jantzen beach mall, they are taking a few weeks off for some two day races up north, check out the rose city forum in the northwest section for the next race date.

Here, we drive foams and rubber tire classes. I actually run both on the same car, during the same day. It makes for a great challenge as well as a workout in speed setup having to adjust ride height and droop between every run, but you get to really see the difference between the two type of tires. Foams are definitely more forgiving allowing for more aggressive throttle application when cornering and easier to drive overall because they don't have the same eccentric habits of rubber tires. Rubber tires don't regain their traction and control of the car as easily as foams do. So when driving rubbers, you've got to take it easy and keep the tires spinning as fast as possible without them breaking traction... with today's engines this can sometimes take an inate feel for the cars powerband (a good clutch helps tons too). With foams, you can fly around all over the place if you want... plus rubbers can overheat... running 5 minute mains, I hit the track as late as possible to keep the tires fresher at the end of the run.

Club is RCAR of Hawaii.

The UK runs 2 classes of 1/10th touring car in the national series they are

1/10th 20mm IC Rubber tyres
1/10th 200mm IC Open tyres (usually foam unless it rains!)

You can find all the info at http://www.brca.org/

Cheers

Yes theres nothing better than racing. Esecially if you have an r40. That cars meant for the track. Testing your car and hone your skills. Racing is just so much more fun.
