Thanks!
There was a discussion on that back on page 10.

Default Pegaso Mexico Race January 19-23

Paolo and friends...

If you can give me any setup information and or engine tuning suggestions for a stock ZX in my new 960 for this race in Mexico I would greatly appreciate it. About 10 of us from Texas are flying down for the race and I will be running my new 960 for the first time. Any help, ideas, or information would be greatly appreciated... My first trip to the high altitude of Mexico City area.

I usually run the #2 ackerman in the outer holes for the most steering. If you move to the inner holes on the arm it should take steering away.

Default 2 speed shaft

I just left the track, frustrated knowing that my 2 speed shaft broke into 2 while I was breaking in my new engine. My Evlova 2 speed shaft will bend a little bit but never snapped into pieces. The good thing is it is just a practice day, if it broke during a race I will be putting the car into the garbage.

Slide, sorry about your frustation. If you are located in America, please send the shaft to Serpent USA and we will replace with a new one free of charge. If you are located somewhere else, contact your distributor.

As a general information, The first batch of the 960 came with a double slotted shaft. Because of the doubble slot, there was not enough material and a few shaft broken. This has being solved. The latest shafts have only one side with slots.

Hey Doug,
Pegaso......Awesome track!!! Wauu, i just realize that last time i was there was 10 years a go

Anway, setup wise, i think should not be difficult. Start with std downstops, toe, camber, etc. Red springs all around and 40WT oil. Track is (or at least was) very smooth.

Engine wise........you need a lot of Nitro in the fuel, and a very good clutch.

Let me check today and i will send you some suggestions.......

Thank you, so the further away the holes are from the pivot point of the steering shaft the more generall steering you get? What about the distance between the left and right hole on the servo savers? What effect does this have on the car?

When i was at the serpent nations cup in spain in november i noticed one of my teammates shafts broke in half also, serpent replaced it free of charge though which we thought was very good of them

Also does anyone have any idea how much this neew serpent battery pack weighs? http://www.eliterc.co.uk/view_produc...product=903188.

I have a similar pack on my 960 (a Sanyo 900mAh). It weighs 70 grams.

Paolo and Chris..

Thanks for the information, I do have Paolo's Ft. Myers setup and will start out as you advise. Any other information you can come across would be great. A little more exact description of what you mean by "a very good clutch" would be helpful too.

Thanks again for the rapid response.

Doug,

I think Paolo is reffereing to a clutch setting that is on the aggresive side, strong snap out of the corners.

Default 2 speed shaft

Sorry Paolo I live outside the country but I appreciate the guys (like yourself) to address the problem and a fix for it. What got me so angry was that when the shaft broke it took the bearing and the 18T (metal gear) away and I don't even bother to look for it. Honestly I don't mind to buy a replacement shaft but after 15 seasons of racing it is a bit embrassing when u see yr mid belt coming off on the straightway. But I want to say the car is on par and just as good as other brands ( I know becuase I currently own them) and I personally think it is one of the best serpent since vector and more races will be won by this car, that's for sure. Thank you.
