Was this a change for ease of manufactuer and cost or did it give a real tangible benifit?

Oh, somebody let me know when they have 960 08s in stock please.
With using shims underneath the upper arm mount, we have almost unlimited adjustability with roll center. While when using inserts, we were limited to what positions we were given.

960 08's are not in the US yet...

Better? They last longer. Some say belts don't last as long on aluminum but I don't race enough to notice a difference. On weight, plastic beats aluminum. Plastic has the disadvantage of wearing out faster. On side pulleys it's easy to swap but front and rear pulleys are a pain to get out. I find the side and front mid pulleys wear quickest. Some guys I know just swap out plastics the night before the race. I mix and match. For the rear (22T = plastic. 18T = alu). For the front, same deal (16T = alu, 25T = plastic).

For me I usually will use a metal 16T pulley becuase they seem to last longer and lesser chance to strip the front belt. If you do not have a tensioner in the mid bearing block then this is a better bet to prevent stipping. I will also look for a hard coated one iso just a metal one.

I think we all are getting a little tired of 'in two weeks, in two weeks.'

We need someone from Serpent to give us an accurate time of release. If it is not for another 4 weeks then fine, but just tell us the truth. Two months is too long to be strung along like this.

* nothing against the retailers here... I know they are just reiterating what they have been told.

Based on what I have heard from Serpent-USA, they should have the new kits within 2 weeks and then they have to send them out to the dealers. Most likely I would think in 3 weeks you should start seeing them on the shelves. Not sure how many they are getting. People might want to put them on back order to help ensure that you get one.
