The price of the kit has gone up due to issues with the fluctuating rate of the Euro dollar versus the US Dollar. The value between the two has changed drastically over the recent times which has caused the price of the actual kit to go up a tad.

Sorry for the inconvience.

Default more steering

Hi,

Iam wondering if you guys have off power steering problem with 960. Today I did some test on the track. Saw , that other 1/8 brands exspecially mrx 4 cars can better turn in "U" turns. They have more steering at corner entry. I did some different setups but didnt work. Here is my last setup but has not enough steering!

Front
Sway Bar: none
Hanger : Alu hanger inner hole.
Shock position: upper
Shock oil: 40WT
Shock piston: 3 Holes
Shock spring; red
Caster: stock
Wheel base: Long
Downstops: +1
Steering block: Std
Ackerman: long-wide
Camber: -1.5 / -1.0
Toe: L/R -1 deg
Width: 252

Rear
Sway Bar: none
Roll Center: low arm in the bottom , upper arm inner pos.
Shock position: in the Bulkhead
Shock oil: 40WT
Shock piston: 3 Holes
Shock spring; red
Downstops: +9
Width: 262
Camber: -3.0 / -2.5
Toe: +2.5 deg
Body mount: Second hole from the outside

Can some one give me any idea? Is the setup which I did tottaly wrong for more steering . Today I ordered the new wos steering blocks hope that will work.

Maybe try running your front shocks in the lower position of the shock tower, it should increase steering for you. You could also stiffen your rear swaybar slightly.

Add this with the rest.
Don't forget to move your caster forward by 3mm. Simply move one of the largest caster pins to the rear of the upper "A" arm.
I have been working on steering since the test and tune at 301. Do everything that the guys say. It will all improve your turning.

You can also shorten your wheelbase 2mm and move the rear shock position up(higher) off the bulkhead.

By running the blue springs in the front, you actually will decrease your steering, but it will increase your response or initial steering. the 1.5 toe should help though.

well the reason i said blue spring is because he said U turns not sweeping turns the respones of steering may not be there because lack of weight transfer to the front wheels and front sway bar flat not helping in initial turn in . what do you think ???

Although it is a U-turn situation there are still the 3 stages of that corner, In my opinion, the front blue springs will make the car react faster, but it will decrease the steering as soon as the weight is dumped back on the rear end as he is on the throttle in mid corner and corner exit.

If it is a hairpin, what you want is to be able to brake and attack the apex right? So in some cases if the rear end is too planted it can take away that initial steering response he's looking for. Once traction is applied to one area of the car, you remove steering somewhere else. In this case it seems that his rear end settings are super planted and the front end feels like its setup to take away some steering other than the detached sway.

I think he has two options:
Reconnect that rear sway bar and play with its stiffness.
Lower the front shocks and leave the front sway bar on in its flattest position.

Default U Turn

Hi,

Thnx for answers. I dont need quick response . I tried the Blue springs and loose a lot of steering. This is not a Hairpin stituation. Acctually Im happy with my high speed steering. But at the U turns I loose a lot of time and I have to break very deeply for entering the corner.
I will try Lowering the front shock position and inclining rear schock position.
And last options are wos steering blocks. Do you guys tried the wos steering block is it worth.

Default steering

I have the same problem with my 960. The mugen drivers have almost more steering than serpents. The othere options is to try Paolo's tips for more steering.

- Wos steering block . left to right and right to left.
- new -1 mm haengers.
- Central Lola body.
- grinding front sway bar to 3 mm.

But im not sure that will work for U turns.
