World champion Art C. use to tell us ( when he lived in Indy ) don't fall in love with your car bodies because you will destroy them racing.

How apropos Nitrohead; Hot rodding my Cobra GT at 7am this morning in the freezing cold at Target was like driving on ice. After running flat out from a great distance towards me, I applied the breaks and she just skidded for what seemed like 20 ft to an abrupt stop right under my parked car, scraping my roof and chipping off half my spoiler. I took such pride in preserving a spotless body since I started running the Cobra and porsche in July But I guess these things do happen, and of course you know I put the order in for a new one as soon as I got home!

I was fortunate, the chassis sustained no damage whats so ever. But I'm thinking I might shelf the cars until it warms up a bit.

Evo if you have rubber tires on your Cobra when it gets cold outside they won't grip. I want to run my FG but I have the same problem!!! It is toooooo cold here in Indiana.

nitrohead,

Talked to a friend of mine the other day and he is now interested in getting a 5th scale as well. We did the cost comparison thing like we talked about at the beginning of this thread and he was amazed at similarity of costs between getting a 5th, 8th, and 10th scale onroad car. He is going to go the electric route (doesn't like the nitro/gas because he doesn't like tuning engines). Turned him onto the website of the Utah FG distributor and he was like a kid in a toy store. Working very slowly on building a group of 5th scalers in my region to possibly get some racing going.

Yes, got a couple of ideas in mind. But first, I need to get the car(s) in my possession first (working on that part now). Would like to try to coordinate something with the current 5th scale racing crowd as not to step on toes or infringe on someone's territory. With the analyzed lower costs of racing 5th scale car over the current nitro classes, it will be a matter of time (and education) to open the eyes of some of the masses about these cars (and the 5th scale class as a whole).
