It should say EVOLVA 2005 on the box, also the Manual should say 2005 too

Sub-c cells are what is used for electric racing and are way too big for receiver packs. The cells you are refetting to are 1/2A cells. BTW, they are larger in diameter than AA cells but shorter.

Yasu-san,

I want some 05 stuff. Save me a full set of gears and I will pick them up at the track this weekend. I'd also be interested in the front bulkhead/arm set, the new fuel tank, and the brake arm. I could also use a new Shimo front body mount. Come to think of it, maybe a full 05 conversion See you at the track.

This is what I was told also by the toro_man at rc-toro.com. I just wanted to confirm this.

I have a v1rrr wce. In general, I found that the v1rrr wce is better made than the Evolva 05. I have not finished putting it together. But, in order to make 05 smooth and fit nicely, there are quite a few touchup/filing I have to do. Anyone find the same exp?? I expect 05 to be made better because it is more expensive.

I don't have any experience with the v1rrr - but, the Evolva is an excellent kit. Yes, some hand work needs to be done - notably, in the rear body attachment bracket assembly. The 03 and 05 Evolvas assemble the same - no real quality differences between the two. You will find this car is tough - can take a hit without breaking. That is a very nice feature for the US market - we have so many "board" tracks.

Actually, the cells used most often for 1/8 are 2/3A cells. This is whats used in the Mugen I believe. They have capacity comparable to AA's.

2/3A or A/F cells only go up to about 1400 mAh, while the full AA cells are up to 2600 mAh. the Evolva will fit a AA-size receiver pack, and it certainly needs the weight to make the limit if you're running low profile tires. I would suggest running a AA-size pack if possible. It's a tight fit, but it's got tons of capacity and you'll be closer to making weight.

I know. The box says "2003 world champion" on the top, and in the side an sticker says EVOLVA 2005

That's curious because I just put together an Evolva 2005 and a V1RRR WC last week, and found that the Evolva fit a little better than the V1RRR
