this is completely normal. it will not be as loose compared to other cars in the market. but don't feel bad. you still have the best car.

Thanks.

I noticed that if you remove the side belt it'll reduce the drag a lot.. Does anybody know if the low friction belts work well? Thanks!

i'm using the low friction belt, but I have discovered that it is streatching more than others. I have 4 race weekends on it and some practice days, looks to be holding up, but can't tell a big difference. I'm runnin all 3 belts LF.

Even after you changed all 3 belts to low friction belts, you will still feel the drags? Hmm...So I think there's no way to completely free of drags? Thanks.

no, there is no way for the car to be as free as the others. but this doesn't affect the performance of the car.

Are they worth? IMHO... YES! Rock solid idle, very responsive, high torque and incredible top speed!

I got my RB V15 modified from Ace for $505 including shipping & tax. I heard some people got this engine for appox $400 from their LHS but (since V15 is only limited for 300pcs) I can't find it anywhere online/LHS except Ace. So I went ahead and bought one from Ace. RB V12 modified engine is $379.99 (before shipping & tax) at Ace.

Hi guys, this is my first post, I just discovered this nice forum. I just bought my first on-roader. I am experianced with buggys.

Anyways this is what I bought:

Mugen Mtx-3
Nova-Mugen Mr-12
Novarossi Rex pipe
Hitec 592 digital servo (aprox 125/.08)
Body TBA
RD Logics reciever batt

I got this off RCUniverse for 520.

Here is a link to the exact car:

Link

Radio i'll be using is a Futaba Magnum.

I ordered an Ofna 1/10 compact starterbox.

So anyways, I was looking at the prospec and the optional parts it includes and it didnt seem liek anythign worth buying, some minor things.

I want to buy a backup engine, something in the 200-300 dollar range.

The engine I was looking at the the Novarossi (mugen) X-12.

If you guys have any other suggestions please share.

Any tips would be great, i'm a noob to on road any help would be great.

I cant read the other 500 pages in this thread ( yes, i tried to!!!)

Thanks.

Default my best race report...

mtx3/os-tr/25%gammalube...last weekend was the best race since my involvement in rc...and the results were still something like a dream to me....i got 3rd A main...it was real hard for me to qualify, only in the last heat i was able to put myself into the A main group..qualified 9th...

although it was only my 3rd time qualifying in A9, i never did well except finishing in 9 or 8 place , maybe just to finish the race one or 2 placing better than i started, especially with the other regular A main faces and mostly italian power plant...

besides the reliablity and competitive power by the tr...all the tweaking/dialing/tuning , the pit crew and driving strategy also help achieve the good results....my plans were simple , a 6 min. 30 second per refuling time, start last following the rest of the pack...after the 1st refuel i heard the announcement that i was 2nd trailing 1 laps behind the leader...as the race went on i was switching places 2 and 3rd...at one time i drop to 4th..halfway through i was thinking 'this time i can do it at least finish 2nd or 3rd...i just have to keep focus and not be too confident...when the race ended was a relief 30 minutes of pressure was over.... anyway now i have more confidence in future races....tq

Default rear end traction

what is the trick to getting the rear end of the mtx3 to stay planted in the turns, tight turns at that. i intially had a problem with turn in and pushing alot, now i have that pretty much under control. now the car wants to whip around no brakes applied? i can turn in fine but mid corner it will just spin out most of the times off throttle. where would i go from stock setup.

i have the 2.5mm sway at the softest setting (at the ends)
and the front bar flat (softest also)
dark blue springs at the lowest wholes

Usually when that happens to me it's when I don't have enough camber in the rear. Cheack your camber, make sure it's between 3 & 4
