didnt matter what engine, the key is smoothness on throttle, and gearing.

but i think they will not allow nitro on tamiya track

The track is pretty good size, about the same Crystal Palace, long back straight. High bit surface, bring those 42 fronts, sorry no pictures, I will try to take some this weekend.

Oh dear, I just went back to see when I first posted in this thread. November 2002 and I'm still running that original car and it's still one of the fastest in Oz. That's not too bad for a car that gets raced almost every weekend. Worn out four motors in that time. Replaced the CVs a couple a times, three tanks cause the "O" ring wears out, most of the bearings a few times otherwise a lot of it is still that original car. Oh, it still understeers!

I know how you feel rjl. You must be bored to death. Why don't you get a Snake, so that you can learn something new.

FW-05 seems a very good one to play with.

I have an fw, not reliable enough yet. And I'm far too lazy to work out too many adjustments.

Post Mugen kit with motor

Yeah I believe Ultimate hobbies has one of the cheapest Mugen MTX3 kit with the motor. Plus in the shipping alone I think you can't beat their deal with the purchase of $50.00 or more you actually get free shipping. I believe the kit comes with the MT-12 NovaMugen engine. One word of advise if you think you're going to go all out I would just save up a little bit more money and get yourself a competitive motor. Not that the MT-12 is slow or anything but majority of the guys at the track nowadays have some crazy fast motor like the NS12 S3, TSR S3, Novamax, JP's etc. So you might want to think about that.

Well, I have seen many MT-12s that run very fast and perform very well during practice or racing. Of course, it gotta be modified properly, though. There are many I know who run the MT-12 and really like the durability of the engine. It may not give you the thrill, but it would surely last for a longer while.

One sad thing, however, many lhs will soon stop carry part for this good'ol amazing engine.

The only replacement part that's different between the MT12 and the RS12's is the conrod.

Piston/sleeve will even fit from the new NS/NSR12

you sure?

short rod has a bit cut away in the piston skirt!, if rod is shorter surley that lowers the piston so the ports need altering to suit?

im not sure just asking
