Yes it was becuase back then S5 were like $150, and now aday same engine which is NS5 cost over $240! if new NS5 about the same as those old S5 of course I would not whip out 3 bills for the Novamax! does it make sense to you now??

I know 2 for mounting, one for antena, the big one for transponder and may be the rest 2 on the south side of the big hole are for 2 more screw to secure the transponder so it doesnt hit left and right! just my guess!

I think the big hole is for a transponder and the three little holes around it is where you secure a personnal transponder.
