Kondo engines were all out when I was in Japan, despite several effort visiting four different r/c stores in Tokyo. Hopefully, there will be some when I go next time. I figure it may worth the money to buy one and see what Mr. Kondo has done to the engine.

But, anyway, even a typical engine would cost a lot more than HK or in the States--exclude OS.

What about a Next Racing? Looks quite good. Shame of the 300UK Pounds plus Tax that wants their European Importer.

Stephen, I was thinking about your post some more and should wanted to reiterate that the overdrive ratio chart that I posted is for the 16/19 combo. This gives about a 6% overdrive ratio to the car. This is why you need to run a split to have a drive ratio of 1. With the stock pulleys you would indeed be able to run same sized tires front and rear. The advantage of the overdrive pulleys is that you can run a smaller front tire. This has a couple of effects including the following:

1) Reduces the amount of side bite on the front. Has the effect or gives the feel of slightly number steering responce and has less of a tendency for the car to traction roll.

2) Allows you to drive the car harder, more punched and allows you to use the throttel to rotate the car.

Basicaly the whole point of this is to allow you to drive the car in a similar fashion as an 8th scale car using the throttel to rotate the car and rather than having to wait while cornering for the car to straighten before accelerating, it allows you to accelerate harder and sooner out of the corners i.e. right after you apex.

Hope this helps. If you have more qestions feel free to ask.
I agree with your method. Its apparent you have some knowledge of true overdrive however your chart is still inaccurate unless you know the given rpm of the engine. If someone hands you a new engine like say motorman during a meeting and it has 4000rpm more than the engine you were running then your overdrive calculations are worth squat and you have to recalculate for each give tire diameter.
