Default If you are interest on trying this setup ...

Guys i posted this on the Yokomo GT4 Thread but its a couple of MTX3 on the history and maybe you too want to try this setup.

cya !

---

Guys, as some of you may know, i ended about a month and a half my "full solid configuration" and went to front solid and rear diff configuration.

Now, this last weekend i participated on a race (2nd one in Brasil). The track was medium size, 75% high speed 25% twisty layout with a lot of grip. The format was a 15 minutes of classification and 30 minutes final. I got classified on the 6th place and during the waiting for the main i was discussing about full solid configuration with a guy (MTX3) and he dont believe that its a fast setup (well, he said fast but with too little control for his style of driving).

Well, the thing is that, I DONT KNOW WHY (well, i know, just selfish pride), i took my Yokomo and changed the rear diff for a solid axle, and maintained the side plastic pulleys.

The bottom line its .... I ENDED ON THE SECOND PLACE !!!! ... WOOOOHOOOO !!! ... the first place was a MTX3 (the guy i was talking to prior the race), the third another MTX3 and the 4th and 5th was NTC3 cars. Now the guy with the MTX3 want to try full solid configuration too. BTW, we are running here with rubber tires 24mm.

My friends, IM VERY HAPPY, since i changed to front solid and rear diff im having more time to get practice and my driving its better and now back to full solid i think i re-feel more comfortable with this fast-and-furious setup.

SO ... IM HOOKED UP AGAIN on the full solid setup, i think i have now what i needed, more "hands" due to more practice time.

Modellor, you were right, the best was to go back to full solid setup.

Note : I just have 1 thing to check. Even when its not annoying and i can race with the car as is, im feeling a little push to the right during first acceleration and again a little push to the right when the second gear kicks inn (im using the shoe-type 2 speed kit). The setup have 1 Toe out in front, 1 Camber in front, 2.5 Camber on the rears and 1.5 Toe in on the fronts. Front gray (almost white) springs and rear white springs. Side pulleys are stock plastics. This last weekend i were running with Sorex 32's front and rear during the morning and Sorex 40 front and rear the rest of the day and during the finals.

Thanks for your attention guys !!

Tabushi,

Did you(and the MTX3 guys) change from the stock foam set-ups and if so, what did you change.

We race on rubbers too but on a tight track. I might be interested in running a solid front just for kicks.

Thanks!

I usually run on a tight truck with front and rear solid setup and no problems at all.

Hi Pat,

Of course, you wouldn't have any problem because it was a "tight trUck".

You have a couple of excelent servos. One of them is a torque servo and the other is a high speed servo. For your steering you need the 2143 because it is very powerful and very fast. For the radio transmitter I'm not sure but it has a one blue LED that is diffrent from the others and looks realy neat when the sun goess down.
