Hi,

I'm very new at Nitro Rc and I've found a Mugen MTX-3 prospec, has been used but as a starter it's good enofe.

Want to try this first before I start buying expensive RC's...

I'm now trying to tune it a bit, but I've got a question.

Does anyone know what the standard needle settings are for this RC?
I bought it second hand and would like to get it first to it basic settings before I start tuning the engine.

Any other tips/tricks are always welcome.

Sorry out racing Oval cars in Omaha this past week.

It would be just the brace, as I don't think I have the full tree in new parts, but I'll look this evening.

Hey Jerre

The motor is a completely seperate component from the car. You would have to get hold of the manufacturer manual for that specific motor to find out the needle settings. As far as the car goes it depends on track size. I basically run purple springs all round, 60 weight oil in shocks, 38 foams all round, 1mm smaller foams at the front, 100000 weight diff oil in front, 50000 in the rear, 6 mm front ride height, 7 rear, shocks are fairly upright front and rear I think one hole from the outside front and rear, all the little clips and shims are infront of the front a arms, letter A steering block and C rear block. Run a smaller pipe for large tracks and long pipe for smaller tracks. Gearing I run 2nd 59/25 and 1st 53/20.

Thats all I can think of at the moment mate. Good luck its a great car. I have a few of them lol I think I have enough parts to last a life time.

hi guys, my mtx3 is throwing the C clip off all the time that holds the 2 speed on. Anyone have an idea on why?

ur C-clip is worn out, Either but a new C-clip or get a pair of pliars and close the gap a little and then put it back on, and it should be good to go.

You may need a new E-Clip, if that dose not work check the side play of the 2 speed shaft. You may need to move the side pully closer to the bulk head to take away some of the side play.

And who still racing with this car ?



As for my self, I still have two mtx3 in race ready condition. Sadly, I don't race them anymore.

I do. I still have 5 of them. sold all 3 of my mtx4 due to 2nd gear stripping all the time.

Battery is a little hard to find.
