At beginer level, this car is okay. Infact it is the strongest and less problematic cars than others.

At expert level, this car is outdated, the performance cannot keep up with RRR, MTX4, 720, G4S.

Default Short Wheel Base Mod??

Please explain more, I am a recent MTX3 owner and would love to know what to do to enhance it. I guess the answer to my question will be somewhere in all of these posts!
Thanks in advance,
Nick Marson

Do you often WIN the race against MTX4 or RRR or 720 drivers ? Don't you feel MTX3 have mid cornering problem compare the above cars ? ( Assuming you are using normal MTX3, and I don't know how did you shortened the wheelbase ? ).

I have MTX3, MTX4, G4S, and I know the feeling of each car. Lately I often race my MTX3 against 720, G4S, MTX4 and RRR. I don't bull........ it's difficult to Win especially if you racing in group A and your friends are using MTX4, 720, G4S, RRR..... you are lucky to finished 4th.

BTW. I don't bash MTX3. MTX3 is my first nitro car. I really love it and Infact I have three MTX3 kits: 2 cars and 1 for spare parts.

Default wheel base

The MTX3 lacked initial turn in .
Shortening the wheelbase and using 1mm offset rims solved this problem.

The front arms top and bottom had 2mm ground off the rear then a 2mm caster clip was placed in front of the top and bottom arm plus a 2mm spacer on the sway bar mounting screws.
Shorter wheel base .
Widen the track width with 1mm offset rims changed roll centre.
Both combined helped the cars lack of steering compared to the RRR.

Car was much easier to drive.

Is this involve cutting the front's lower suspension arms ?

Pictures ?

Default MTX3 Prospec

I have a MTX3 Prospec that I bought as a kit right before the mtx4 came out. I put it together and raced it for about 3 months. It has sat on my shelf for about 8 months after a complete rebuild and I am considering selling it.

What would you be willing to pay for this car (in exceptional condition) as a roller with extra "common" replacement parts?

This is not an offer to sell yet, I am just wondering what the going market price is for this.

Thanks!

Default mtx3

Mtx3 is still the strongest car out there. The longer the race the better your chace of winning.

I have both mtx4 and mtx3. When I race mtx4 I have to be real gentle and hoping that I don't hit anything hard and the 2nd gear don't strip. With mtx 3, I drive the shxt out of it. I already gone thru 3 chassis on the mtx4. All from not so hard hits.

All of my mtx3 are still using the orignal 3 mm chassis.

Sorry, there is none for mtx3 overdrive chart. I only find roll out table and gear ratio.

That's right, MTX3 is very reliable car for 45min - 1 hr long main ( only IF you can drive it so good against MTX4 and RRR ..... otherwise they skin you alive ) .

The problem with MTX3 is traction roll vs understeer dilemma.
