No problem Eric. I actually was looking for the MTX3 manual this past weekend so I can put together a screw kit for it since I did the new MRX4R and MTX4 kits this past weekend. But I couldn't find the manual on either the Mugenracing website or the Japan site. So I then found it on that page. I'm not sure what they changed from the MTX3 to the MTX4, but I'll have a screw kit for the MTX3 by tomorrow

Best regards,

hey guys
yet another prob i need advice on.

i had some green fuel lines on the car but i could not see the fuel so thought a clear line would be better.
i got the pipe and cut to the same length as the ones that were on the car.
the pipe is a little bit thicker but the inside hole looks the same size as the old ones.

the prob is if i spin the car or the back ends come out in a corner the engine just cuts off straight away.

this never happened before and i can only think its the new fuel line.

any1 know whats going on???
if i cant get a fix i will try the old line again and see if it still happens(old 1 was at home so aint been able to try this yet)
thanks in advance!!!

I have experienced the same exact proble mwith my 1/8 , the engine gurgles on a left bend and okay on a right bend all the time.........I changed the plugs and all is cured.

There is a theory to have the exhaust pressure pipe longer to eliminate exhaust pulse that may cause fule pulsing into the carb but this would only hold water when the tank is full, once the tank is 10 or 15% spent the empty space in the tank would act as the pressure chamber.

do you mean the glow plug????i have a spare so i will try that.
the engine seems fine going round both left and right corners, its just if it spins.
it only needs to spin a 1/4 way round not even a half spin where the car is facing the oppostie way round.

Default Quits

It sounds like the clutch may be causing it to quit. Check the way your clutch is shimmed. If it has drag on the shoe it will kill the engine when you spin or go sideways.

latemodel13 m8 i think you may have someting there
some thing very odd is going on with the gears /clutch. sometimes it wont change, other times it seems its stuck in second and it also when it gets to the point when it should change sometimes its sound gose right down to a low pitch growl or gurgle and seems to lose a lot of power, which i guess is not good cause it never sounded like that before.
also sometimes when i bring her in the shoe is stuck in the open postion and you cant turn the wheels back, but if you turn them a bit hard it clicks closed again.
is this just a worn out part or is something broke?
i have had the car 1 month so iam a newbie at this.
can you explain in detail what i need to do and what parts i may need?
what do you mean shimmed??? and how can i tell if its dragging
thanks for your time

Default Two speed

If you have your manual it tells how to set your two speed. You need to adjust the ball in the center of the shoes. A good place to learn how to set your clutch is cefx.com under tips.

Toss the ball out and use longer screws like M4x10mm ( for mtx3 2sp clutch shoe ) or M3x10mm ( for mtx4 ).

If you have a dremel, you can cut 12mm screws to 10mm.

I'm still using the same clutch for over 1 year now. Never look back to ball system anymore.

thanks for the tips guys.
i guess i will be getting a new shoe and forget the ball.
i have posted a few pics of the shoe, it would be grt if you could tell me if there is something visablly wrong with it,if it looks ok i might just get the longer screw instead of a new shoe aswell and se how that gose.
(i know there not great they where taken on my phone )
oh 1 thing i did notice was the 2 side screws that have the spring and copper
band round them. 1 of the bands dose not move and the other is moveable,i persume they shold move so do you think the stuck 1 may be causing the problem?
i will try and losen it tonight.

the 2nd and 3rd pic is 1 side and then the other,(not the same side)

Dick, replace the set screw that is in the middle with a longer one as discussed. The other two on the sides are used to calibrate your two speed clutch.Loosening them would have the second gear engaged faster and vice versa.
