4mm is a major split! I've tried 1.5mm before and it worked great until it reaches 1mm. Then the car drives horrible. I will try 2-2.5mm. Thanks.

Is this me or happen to mtx3 owners :

Is it normal when rear tires become smaller in diameter than front the car's handling become worse and worser. ....... for examples, when the car turn and exit in tight corner, the car might skid for split seconds ( rear tires skid sideways ). It's annoying because I lose confident and push me to take next corners slower. This is not bottom out issue.

you need to install the 16/19 conversion belt and have a 2mm split on your tires. this will help the tire wear become almost even. the stock setting is fine if you're track is very low wear. but like in my case, i use the 16/19 on my mtx-3.

You need to buy the MTX3 pulley set. Right now you have a 19tooth side pulley on the rear and a 24 tooth on the front. Remove the 24 tooth front and put it aside. Take the rear pulley (19 teeth) and move that pulley to the front. Now take the 16 tooth pulley out of the bag of new pulleys and put it on the rear. You will also need a shorter side belt. Kawahara makes one. I am also about 99% sure that team taylor racing has the conversion side belts. You can find him at www.teamtaylorracing.net. If you can't find it on his website, then call or email him. He probably has the pulley set as well.

Thanks Scott

I have mtx3 pulleys bags. Gonna try next weekend. I hope the original middle belt is not too lose.

When I tried the 16/19 conversion I had the shorter belt. I never tried the stock belt but I would say that I am 99% sure that the stock side belt will be too long to run the 16/19 conversion.

you need to have the conversion belt. i used to sell the belts on ebay. i have sold more than 800 conversion belts!!! i don't sell them anymore because i thought the demand was not as much anymore. also, most of the people who bought from me probably still have spares because most of them bought bulk (5 sometimes 10 belts per order!)

but i might list it again towards the end of december because i do have them instock.

Thanks guys

I'm planning to look shorter belts in my LHS, I hope one of G4 or RRR or 710 middle belt is shorter than mtx3's.

What other benefits of running 16/19 conversion beside even tire wear ?

Cheers.

My computer has dial up so it won't load PDF files, sooo... I guess I was mainly looking for rear diff oil and camber.

10K rear diff
camber start out -2 in the front and -4 in the rear. and then adjust as you run the car. i.e. when the tires are coning in (more meat on the outside than inside of tire), decrease camber and vice versa.
hope this helps
