The best thing to do is to try it your self, at Texas to keep the rear of the car from comming around we were using 3.5mm of shims under the camber link.

Ira- Thanks for setup info yesterday. Unfortunately, I felt the need to push the car to its limits, and beyond, resulting in some spectacular crashes! I managed to break a few parts. I only finished 2 quals, (one was limping). The car did have great acceleration and steering was off the hook. Even with very little time to change setup, the car felt way more comfortable than my last racer. If I decide to drive clean, this will be a great platform for me.
Are you going to Toledo? The only downside to running this car is a lack of fellow Mugenites. Appx. 30+ TCs. yesterday and only one other MTX besides myself....? Guess I'll stock up on parts!! Nick

Dont Fear! There will be several Mugen cars out to race next year in the Chicagoland area. I know myself, and several others are waiting on the MTX4 to make the Mugen Switch.

and by adding shims you lower the roll center and add rear traction, yes?

Nick, you are welcome. How was the other lone ranger running the MTX? I was glued to the TV over the week end, I have family in New Orleans and I was keeping an eye on hurricane Katrina. Did you try the spool up front or did you use the one-way? I sent Eddie a setup for the car, did he race this weekend? Yes I will be at Toledo in September for the MWS, I want miss it that track is killer. Can't wait for Leisure Hours to open the on-road track.

guys i dont thinik you will see a major performance difference between the mtx-4 and the mtx-3........why would all of u guys just change right over....how would you no if its going to be any good or not...it can be worse than the mtx-3????????everyone is assuming its goign to be amazing...just wait till it comes out and see wat the pro mugen racers have to ssay about it.....dont just jump the gun and have high hopes...its good to but if the mtx-4 isnt what you guys are expecting then you will all be mad

hahahhahaha

thats just wat i think about everyone saying that they will jump from the 3 to the 4...there is absolutly nothing wrong with the 3 its amazing performance

thanks

Mike

but if no one was to try the new 4 coming out, how would you guys know how good, or bad the car is.

i will be getting one because i like the easy maintenance idea/design implemented on the new one. from the looks of it, the geometry is pretty close if not the same to the 3. so that translates to very comparable performance, if not better.

but the only way to find out is to actually get one. i am all excited about the mtx-4. it looks really good! although, i have to admit that i will not get rid of the 3. i will have both the 3 and the 4 in my arsenal

The only reason a new car comes out is because of performance enhancements.

There are two negative factors need to be fix for MTX3 : 1. The fuel tank is not center, 2. the easy to flip factor ( traction roll ).

So yeah......, I agree with you robbie. MTX4 will be a better car than MTX3.
