BTW... @ my home track is almost drag racing every lap. Any suggestion of how to get more speed on the 275~280ft straightway? car is as light as possible... rear wing as less as i can get, bearings ok, engine screeeeaming...
My other engine was clocked at only 61mph... This one is probably getting it faster, specially beaceuse of a new short pipe... any other suggestions?

maybe a bigger diameter tire. if you true them smaller, the car will take off faster but will have less top speed. and also, smaller tire diameter is prone to spinning which eats speed. you can also try the vr12 pipe from www.skylinercracing.com it got pretty good top end. you can check out the skyline forum. they tested pipes and the vr12 produces the most peak hp!

i have also heard that ralph burch used the pipe for the nationals despite the fact that he is a max power distributor.

I do that each 1-2 races. Just to keep the car up-to-date.

Try ceramic bearings in the car and in the engine. Also try over gearing. I feel my car faster in the straight-way with 100,000 in the differential than with 50,000. Maybe you can give that also a try. And definitely the VR12 pipe, gives you power all-around [bottom, mid, top], dont be surprised if your fuel mileage lowers.

Default MTX3 Manual

Could someone send me an electronic copy of the MTX3 manual. I tried downloading from MugenRacing, and their version is scanned incorrectly, so it's missing the top and bottom portion of each page.

Thanks for the help....

My email address: [email protected]

Thanks.

Why don't use bigger pinion gear or smaller spur gear for additional top speed instead messing around with stability / handling departements.

Who runs with front gear diff setup in this forum ? Will it give drivers faster lap times ? I'm speculating the front gear diff setup means better feel when cornering ( more confident feeling ) so drivers can attack corners more aggressively or brake with confidence if they miss the apex.

Front:
Diff: low-med traction, tight track, scrubs a lot of speed.
One-way: med-high traction, open track, fast corner speed
Spool: low traction (I've never tried this though)

Rear:
Diff: 30,000-50,000 for most tracks
Spool: high traction, open track, drives like an 1/8 scale car
Neg Diff: too inconsistent mid-corner, but great on the straight aways

Just my experience with the MTX3

With the 29t pinion I had serious spur stripping issues....
I have to use the 28t...
I think If I could use 29x52 and 23x58 it would be nice... no stripping... But the is no such OEM 23t pinion gear...

That's really the point...
I was stripping gears with pinions 22 and 29... no problems with 22 and 28... I think 22 and 29 don't match...
