Default Team Magic @ England Park

Had a great time racing today with the small group of GT guys that turned up.

Spent I good amount of my day getting things working again mostly my brain as I've crooke and work does not always allow me to go racing..

So I spent a while getting car sorted turning, Grrr hate that part setting up tyres....

Ok So I have now got a much gruntier Engine after replacing the Shim with the correct one for the fuel.. I was told .1mm is better on the OS tg for 16% nitro.

So now the car goes faster... or harder...
I have found it was suffering from bad driver syndrome... LOL

Actually I found that it over steering on exit of turns. and on entry to T1.

my times are not that good but I was doing better before I started trying to get my head around this setup stuff.. I've lost about 2 sec.. although before the engine fix it was handling so much better after the time spent with Jeff.

The car turns in well however I'm finding Exit under steer on the fast turn like exit of T1 and T3 the complex the car is very good through there the looser rear makes it snap through there very well...

so I have front with 1 off hardest setting on the Anti-roll... rear is the same...

spring on the front are soft I think 25's rear is 35's

Ride hight front is 5mm rar is 7mm

Drope is 4mm front and 7mm rear

Toe is 2 deg(tot) out of front and 1 .5 in on rear

Cambre is set to maintain near flat tyres throughout race.

600 rear shock oil 1000 in the front.

track width is max allowed.

Steering reduced to 66% of travel ... Max need to get around turns

as track is rough I do notice my looser traction on the 2 straights a bit. 2 remedy this I"m thinking of dropping the rear spring to 31's and adjust ride hight.. for minimum Clearance with bottoming out...

Laps are mid 18's I was low 17's but I spent a good deal of time off the track because the car would roll over or just miss the turn.. at least now if I drive the right line I"m staying on track a lot more...

anyways there you have it

I"m confused as to what is going on with my car ... or how to fix it... but lets see how the softer rears go and softening of the rear anti roll bar goes...

You might like to bring your TM to the Tune and Pizza night on the Friday night of the month. I'm sure the guys will be happy to help you with your set-up. Just check on the England Park thread, Kerry puts a post up when its coming up.
This one time at Brendale... I was taken out in the pit lane!

What shore Contact tyres are you running? Also on-power oversteer is something alot of G4 drivers have struggled with over the years. You can tame it a little by reducing the amount of steering you have on the radio.

Will we see you this Friday night having a run? We had four cars last Saturday in GT at the normal IC meeting
