Default CVEC is under new ownership, R40, MTX3

Hey all, just wanted to tell everyone, that CVEC is under new ownership, and we are racers. We will still make all the same pipes we did, just improve them. But we also are now making pipes that meet ROAR requirements.

We have new Jato, Revo, and a new T-maxx pipe, as well as our 1/10 scale touring car pipes.

Below is our R40, that has competted and won at these tracks in the past: Superior Hobbies summer points series, expert class, Full throttle speedway, Stricklands, Space Coast Hobbies. All in Florida.

This R40 has allot of goodies on it, including a Sirio EVO2 modified by Murnan. The body is done by Paintin Pete. The pipe is the RS120TLC, CNC machined, made in the USA. It is polishied finish.

I'll post more pictures, and will show you the MTX3 Prospec that we also race.

Thanks for checking out CVEC.

how about some body off shots?...And maybe your opinion on the r40 as a "worthy" race winning pro style race car.....(of course, you won't get an argument from me..I love mine....and would be willing to try a ROAR CVEC pipe.....)....

Sorry Fastharry, I don't seem to have a picture of my R40 with body off on this PC. But here is a picture of the pipe.

I've talked to you and AMG plenty of times on setups, and how the car responds.

I love the car, but.... It eats CVD's... I know, I know, stay off the boards. But in practice, its hard to not get hit by in-experienced drivers.

Now at the big tracks, the car is fine. Keep it off the boards, and it holds its own. So on the short tracks, I perfer the Mugen MTX3 Prospec. On the big tracks, I love the R40.

That being said, if I could drive both the R40 and MTX3, and not know which car was which? I don't think you could really tell, they both handle great, on simular setups.

Setup:

HPI tires (on both my Mugen and HPI) 37 compound front and rear
.5 deg toe out front
2 deg camber
5mm ride height

Rear
2mm toe in
2.5 deg camber
5.5mm ride height

All carbon fiber, light weight shafts, .8 gears, Mugen clutch, mounted receiver on right side of car (like Hara) using JR radio with Futaba 9451 steering servo, 9550 mounted under the deck for throttle. Motor is a Sirio EVO2 modified by Murnan (outstanding power, always one of the fastest on the track)...

Chassis is stock (though I did try the K-Factory)

The Mugen is setup the same way, same tires, same motor. Only real difference is the body.

When I get the car back from my painter, I'll post picks of under the body. I'll get pics of the Mugen tonight.

Any word on a timeframe for when this pipe will be available to the public?? I'm in the market for a new header/pipe so i wouldn't mind trying out a ROAR-legal pipe

Pipe is available to the public now, and is listed with Horizon Hobby and Great Planes. We've been shipping catalogs out to hobby shops accross the US as of last week.

I didn't see it on towers site last night......I'll look on horizons....3 questions.......does the pipe have the same CVEC internals as the original pipe(as fas as the adjustable power band)?....can the stock pipe be used with a std RE manifold?(which I own plenty of)?....the reason I ask,is that the pipe looks a little wide........with a std RE manifold, does it sit too close to the side belt?....and third....hows the stinger holding up..and are they the screw in type like the old pipes?....

The pipe is using a .21 gasket, like the RDLogics turboII pipe. No moving parts inside, but you can take the pipe apart for cleaning. The stingers are screwed on, but we've improved the way the treads are made, and I've been running the same pipe for over a year testing, without getting a dent, or loosing a stinger.

And I've taken some big hits. Our new pipe isn't much heavier that the tin everyone else sells ya, and I can stand on our pipes, without hurting them.

Harry, I'll send you a PM.

Joseph

By the looks on the design it seems to be a pipe oriented towards small tight tracks that require lots of torque from the engine, but how about top end performance on wide open tracks. It reminds me off Paris's and Asso pipes on the divergent cone.

We do have a RPM version, but the real new's is our power pipe that we've been working on. It will have RPM's and Torque. It won't have total top end, or total torque, but a good in between pipe. I'm still testing that, but it will be coming soon.

The RPM pipe is nice also, but since Full Throttle closed, I haven't been able to get out on a track and really do some lap times with it. I did run it at Lakeland, but I was fighting the car all day, and not really looking at the performance of the pipe. Though the car was fast, just the driver wasn't that day.

RPM pipe is RS120RLC for the one peice pipe, and RC120RL for a coupler mounted one.

Large image. We are now making our own pressure fittings too. they look a little different than the one in the picture.
